XIV. The Execution Chamber The flickering torches cast sinister shadows on the walls of the execution chamber. Kurval paced the length of the small room, his purple robe of office flapping behind him. He was in a black mood, so the guards and the handful of witnesses to the execution steered clear of him. Izgomir was there, of course, and apparently the only one who actually wanted to be. Ungolf was there as well, clad in his black leather jerkin, his face covered by the traditional mask.
