Ashley Lane POV
"Mum, I have to go to Debbie's house this evening. We have history project homework together." I called my mum.
"Tonight? Aren't you going to California tomorrow?" My mum asked in a confused tone.
"Yes, but the project should be ready tomorrow, so I should do it tonight."
"Okay, Ashley, just let me know when you're done. I'll pick you up," she replied after a second.
Yes! I cheered inwardly.
"Okay, mum. See you later. Bye..." I tried to make my voice sound normal out of excitement.
"Bye honey."
"Yes!" I cheered with happiness.I was so happy that I jumped excitedly. And then I called Brian to tell him to pick me up at Debbie's.
I walked to Debbie's house after having my own dinner. Debbie's house was just a few blocks away. It took me fifteen minutes to walk from my house.
"Hi, Mrs. Schmidt, Is Debra here?" I asked Debbie's mother when she opened the door for me.
"Yes, she is in her room. Come in, Ash; she waits for you," she answered with a warm smile on her face.
"Thank you, Mrs. Schmidt," I replied as I walked inside.
"Debbie, Ashley is here!" Debbie's mother called her. I heard Debbie's voice answer, and she got out of her room.
"Ash, you look stunning! I really love your hair! I wish I had hair like yours." Debbie said half-screaming when she saw me.
I knew my hair looked stunning. My hair colour was ash blue; actually, it was more like silver and blue. It looked great combined with my blue eyes.
Believe it or not, it was my natural colour; I didn't dye my hair. It was there the day I was born.
"Thank you, Ash! You think Brian will love it?" I asked for her opinion. I made my hair half up, half down, and a bit half curly.
"He sure will," She said. "Is he coming yet?"
"No, not yet. Besides, we have to wait until my mum calls for a checkup." I said as we sat on Debbie's bed.
"Babe, I'm here already; are you ready?" Brian texted me.
"Not yet, babe. Just wait for a few more minutes. I'll text you when I'm done (kiss emoji)." I texted him back. I love using emoji.
"Okay, babe, I love you (heart emoji)." He replied quickly.
Isn't that sweet?
"I love you too," I replied while smiling at myself.
"Ashley, your mum wants to talk to you." Debbie's mum called me from downstairs.
There was my mum, checking on me. The phone call I was waiting for.
"Yes, Mrs. Schmidt," I answered as I got up from Debbie's bed and walked out of her room to the kitchen, where the phone was.
"Hello, I answered her phone call.
"What time do you want me to pick you up? I'm probably going home a bit late. 9.30 is good?" She asked me right away.Sometimes mum got very busy and came home late.
"Sure, mum, 9.30 is just fine." I replied. Honestly, I was glad she would be late tonight. It Meant I had more time with Brian.
"Okay, honey, I'll see you later. I still have some work to do," she said.
"Okay, mum. Bye..." She was busy, so we didn't talk too much and hung up the call.
"Mrs. Schmidt, my mum will be a bit late; I hope 9.30 is fine." I asked Debbie's mother if I would stay a little bit longer in her house.
"It's okay, Ash; just finish your homework first," she said, still giving a warm smile.
"Thank you, Mrs. Schmidt." I thanked her and then went back to Debbie's room.
"Is everything okay?" Debbie asked me.
"Yeah, it's just like our plan."
"I have to go, Deb. Thank you for your help." I replied to her and then hugged my bestie.
"Hey, we are sisters! We help each other," she exclaimed.
"Just go back before nine, or the two of us will be in trouble!" She reminded me as she looked at her window before pushing the window frame up.
"I'm on my way, babe." I texted Brian while walking towards the window.
"Okay, Deb. I got it!" I replied, and then I stepped carefully over the window and out of her room.
I waved her back after a few steps, and I saw her close the window.
I walked a few minutes from Debbie's house and saw Brian's car parked two houses from Debbie's.
"You look beautiful, babe," Brian said once I sat in his car.
"Thank you, babe." I thanked him, feeling so happy.
"So where are we going?" I asked him. We hadn't planned where we wanted to go.
"We can go to Barney's just to hang out, or we can watch some movies at the theatre. You choose," he said, giving me an option.
I could say anywhere with you, babe!
But I was not going to say that.
"Damn right!" Twinny exclaimed, reading my mind. She really knew what I was thinking.
Sometimes the annoying thing about having someone inside your head is that you don't have privacy!
I wish I could put a barrier between us so I could have my own thoughts.
Watching a movie would be great; I wanted to, but I didn't think I had enough time. I should be back at Debbie's at 9 at least.
And if we went to Barney, we would definitely meet some of our friends at school. That's where most of us hang out. And I knew he liked to hang out with his friends too.
"Mmm. Let's go to Barney," I finally decided. And he smiled wide, responding to my decision.
"Alright, buckle up, babe," he said before kissing me on the lips. I like it when he does that!
We drove for a few minutes to Barney's. And as I predicted, we met some of our friends there. Brian and I joined them, as most of them were Brian's friends.
Mandy was there too, but she sat at a different table with us, as usual, with two of her minions.
I could feel her gaze on me, but I ignored her.
We ordered some food and drinks and hung out with them for an hour.
"Let's go somewhere else," Brian whispered to me. His face was closed, and I could feel his breath.
"Sure," I replied, and in return, he gave me a quick peck on the lips.
"Guys, we have to go now. I'll see you at school tomorrow." Brian said good-bye and gave them their usual handshake.
"Aren't you going to go for a race tomorrow?" one of his friends asked me.
"Yes, we'll be leaving tomorrow, but the race is the day after tomorrow. Wish us luck, guys!" I explained to them.
"Sure thing. Good luck, Ashley!" they said, giving support to me and most of the team for sure.
"Thanks guys." I thanked them and waved my hand, since Brian had already pulled me onto his arm and walked me to the exit door.
We were passing Mandy on our way, and she stared at me sharply. But I won't be bothered by her. I meant she should have let it go since Brian is with me now.
We went straight to his car, and he drove it in no time. "
Where are you taking me?" I didn't know where we were going, but I hope it won't take long.
"You'll see," he answered mischievously, giving me a cheeky wink.
I was curious and couldn't wait to find out where he took us.
His car finally stopped after driving for about fifteen minutes through hills and side roads.
It was a small hill with views of the city.
"It's beautiful, Brian," I told him as I walked out of the car and saw the beautiful view in front of us.
"You like it?" he asked me as he hugged me from behind, giving a small peck on my shoulder.
"Yeah, I have never been here." I said this while holding his hands in my belly. "How do you know this place?"
"I grew up here, and we camped not far from here when we were at elementary school," he explained.
"But I think this place is the most beautiful compared to other hills," he added, turning to me to face him. "Just like you."
Gosh! I melted! I can feel my cheek getting warmer.
"Really?" I asked in a bashful tone.
"Stop it, Ash," Twinny snapped. As usual, she didn't like it when Brian and I had our moment.
"Not again, Twinny?" I complained to her about annoying. "He said we are beautiful," I reminded her.
"Yes, you are beautiful, Ashley. I like you a lot," Brian said all of a sudden, looking me in the eye.
His brown eyes were so beautiful, and I was flattered by the way he looked at me.
"Thank you, Brian. I like you too." I replied to him.
He wrapped my waist tighter and closed our distance. And then his lips crashed into mine passionately. My lips caught his, and he slipped his tongue in between my lips, and we fought for dominance. We kissed for a while before he broke it off.
"Let's get inside; you are cold." Brian asked me to go with him back to his car.
He was right. It was cold outside. I could feel my skin freezing because of the cold wind.
We went back to his car, and decided to talk while staring at the beautiful view in front of us.
"Tell me about you, Ash," he said when both of us were comfortable in our seats.
"What do you want to know?" I asked him.
"Everything. I want to know everything about you. Why did you move here in your senior year?" Brian asked as he turned his gaze on me.
"Because of my mother's job," I answered honestly. "We move to other cities quite often. It happens once every 2 or 3 years."
He nodded. "How about your dad?" Brian asked again. His hand held my shoulder and rubbed it gently.
He really didn't know my dad had died.
"My dad died before I was born. I have never met him."I told him.
"I'm sorry," he said. He moved forwards towards me and caressed my cheek.
"It's okay. I have Mum and my brother Sean." I said, smiling at him.
"And you have me," he added, giving me his convincing smile.
"Yeah, I have you," I replied, feeling bashfully.
"Come here, babe," Brian said, giving me a sign to move closer.
I moved slightly towards him, and he did the same too.
And when we got close to each other, he pulled me even closer before planting a kiss on my lips.
At first, his kiss was gentle. We giggled at each other before kissing again.
The kiss was getting hotter and hotter as we devoured each other's lips.
Suddenly, he lifted me up and put me on his lap as I straddled him.
"No Ashley, stop! Tell him to stop! We have to go back!" Twinny said in annoyance.
But I was into Brian at that moment, so I ignored her.
I held his neck tighter, and the kiss was even more passionate.
His hand trailed under my tank top, and he caressed my back. I felt tingled by his touch.
Suddenly, he yanked my tank top, leaving me with my bra.
"Ashley, you don't want to do this. He is not our mate!" Twinny yelled at me. I could feel her anxiety.
"Forget about this, mate, and let me enjoy this!" I said to her, feeling annoyed.
I could feel she was angry as she growled at me. Sometimes I don't understand the growling things. Why did she like to growl?
Brian started to unclasp my bra and make me half naked in front of him.
"Babe, you are so beautiful," he said before he kissed and nibbled my hard n****e and caressed the other with his hand.
I tilted my head back and held his hair as I felt the pleasure sensation of what Brian did to my breast.
I could feel our arousal, and my pants were getting wet.
"Our mate is waiting for us! Just stop before you regret it!" Twinny said.
She became nervous and angry at the same time. She had never been this angry.
"This is Brian, my boyfriend! Do you expect me to wait for this, mate? What if Brian is our mate?" I asked her hard, letting out my anger.
"No, he is not! Our mate is way better!" Twinny insisted, as if she knew for sure that the man she called "Out mate", was way better than Brian. Can you believe it? We didn't even meet this guy!
"I don't even know who he is or when I will meet him!" I told her the hard way. She growled again, harder.
"We should look for him! I'm sure he already looks and waits for us!" This time she said it clearly, as if she were saying it right in front of my ears.
Twinny was always persistent when it came to "Mate" matters. Like it was something that was really important for both of us.
"Where should I find him? And how am I going to do that? I don't even know how to define someone as my mate!" I asked her, felt like I chuckled at her inwardly.
"If you're really sure about this mate thing, Why don't you tell me how I will know which man is my 'so-called mate'?"
"I'll tell you how after the race. Just stop Brian before it's too late!" she demanded once more.
I wasn't paying attention to what Brian did when I had my argument with Twinny.
"Ash, stop him now!" Only then did I realise what Brian had been doing.
I could feel Brian getting hard in his pants and his mouth busy caressing my breast. His hand trailed down to open my jeans button and pull down the zipper.
Wait, what was he doing? I was not going to lose my virginity here, not in his car!
"Brian, stop.." I tried hard to stop whatever he was doing.
"Babe, you are so good," and he groaned instead of stopping.
"No Brian, stop! I mean it!" I said louder and pushed him.
He stopped his action and looked at me in a daze.
"What? Why babe? I thought you wanted it!" he said with his panting breath.
"No, I didn't!" I said, "Not now, not here. And.. I'm not ready... " I added as soon as I saw his facial expression change.
I moved and sat back in my seat, putting back my bra and tank top, and fixing my jeans buttons.
He looked rather disappointed.
"Don't feel guilty, you made the right decision, Ash," Twinny said. She calmed down a little bit.
"I'm sorry, Brian. I have a race coming up, and I have to prepare everything for tomorrow. It's not the right time." I apologised and gave him an excuse. I hoped he would understand.
"Let's go home," he replied without looking at me. And then he started to drive his car down the hill. He didn't say a word on our way back to Debbie's house.
Was he mad at me? To be honest, if he really liked me, I was expecting him to understand.
It would be my first time, and I supposed it had to be special.
Soon, we arrived in the neighbourhood. He stopped his car a few houses before Debbie's.
"I'm sorry; I hope you understand," I said, turning my head at him.
He sighed heavily."No, I'm sorry," he said with his gaze down.
"I thought you wanted us to. I mean, I really like you, Ash," he said, raising his gaze until it met mine."I want you, Ashley," he added.
"Don't listen to this bullshit!" Twinny said in between our conversations again. I let her be.
"It's just not the right time." I said, reasserting my rejection tonight.
"Yes, I know you are right. I'll be waiting then." Brian looked at me and curled up his lip, giving me his charming smile.
I smiled back at him, knowing that we were going to be okay.
"Good luck with your race tomorrow, Babe. I hope you'll nail it. I know you will." Brian said, reaching out his hand to give me support for the race.
"Thank you."
"And I'm sorry I can't come to accompany you there. My uncle and his family are coming, and I can't go anywhere. This family stuff..."
"It's okay, Brian. I understand. It's far anyway. I'll be okay with Mr. Morrison and the team. Just wish me luck!" I didn't want him to feel guilty for not coming to support me in California. Besides, I felt it would be fine to go with the team.
"I will. Take good care of yourself, okay?" After saying good-bye, I stepped out of his car and went back to Debbie's house. I
It was already nine past five when I knocked on Debbie's bedroom window. And Mum could be there anytime soon.
"Get in Ash!" Debbie said, half whispering as she pushed open the window.
"Is everything good?" I asked her when I was already inside her room.
"Yeah, how is your date?" She asked me curiously.
"It's great; we went to Barney's," I told her.
"Liar," she said, teasing me.
"It can't be at Barney; you kiss a lot. Your lips are swollen," Debbie teased, grinning at me.
"What?" I turned my face towards the mirror right away.
"Oh s**t!" I cursed and then took a rushed walk. I went to the bathroom and washed my face in the sink, hoping my mum would not notice it.
When I was done, I heard a knock at Debbie's front door. I was sure it was Mum.
"Come on," Debbie walked me outside the room and opened her front door. I saw my mum standing in front of the door.
"Thank you, Deb; I'll see you in a few days," I said as I hugged her.
"Anytime, Ash, good luck with your race," she replied, giving a tight hug before breaking the hug.
"Thank you," I said before leaving with my mother.
