Evelyn led a miserable life, unnoticed by anyone.

She was the illegitimate child of her father, bullied and mistreated by her stepmother and stepsister, scorned and mocked by the people in the pack.

Her life took a different turn when her father declared bankruptcy and assigned her to Alpha Daniel’s family as a surrogate, as he was a vegetable and incapable of waking up.

But the first time Evelyn laid eyes on Daniel, he suddenly woke up to everyone’s astonishment. He refused to accept her as his new wife and requested a divorce, to which Evelyn agreed.

However, the deadline for preparing for the divorce was three months, during which she would stay at Daniel’s house.

Seeing her stepsister, Rebecca, flirting with Daniel, Evelyn made a resolution; she must become his official Luna and stay here, and no one could drive her away.

Episode 1:
“Wake up, you lazy wretch!” A nasal voice echoed along with a pang of pain surging in my stomach as someone kicked me. Startled, I woke up, finding myself curled under a tattered blanket, tears staining my cheeks. I was sleeping on the floor of a musty-smelling makeshift room, with only a rickety bed that trembled at the slightest touch and a dilapidated wardrobe as my possessions. Standing before me now was a woman with brown curly hair cascading down to her waist, glaring fiercely. She had a sinister face with dagger-like eyes, thick and curled eyelashes resembling a fan, and dark red lips pressed tightly together. She was my father’s wife, Annabella, my stepmother. “How could you sleep while this family is in such chaos!? You’re truly an ungrateful wretch!” she continued to berate, spitting on me. As I rose, my head pounding, I remembered last night when I had been doing household chores until nearly dawn, then drifted off to sleep. I couldn’t recall when. Last night, my father along with my stepmother and my sister had been partying merrily, and I had washed a mountain of dishes after they finished eating, wiped and cleaned the house littered with food and grease, then did the laundry and took out the trash. When I got home, Rebecca—my sister—ordered me to clean up the sunflower seed shells and fruit peels she had thrown on the floor. All of this showed that my family was perfectly normal, so what was wrong and chaotic? I rubbed my head and asked, “What’s going on with our family?” “Get downstairs now and you’ll see!” Luna Annabella didn’t answer my question but slammed the door shut forcefully. Then the room gradually fell silent. I stood up, feeling my body burning up. A dry and bitter sensation rose in my throat. My body ached as if I had been beaten, weak and unsteady on my feet. I thought I might be feverish, but I couldn’t afford to rest. If I didn’t go downstairs immediately, I would face another brutal blow. I dragged my heavy feet to open the door and descended the stairs. Just a few steps down, I heard Rebecca’s sobbing below. I didn’t know what was happening, but it seemed like... a storm was about to hit me. “Dad, I’ll never marry him. I can’t marry a vegetable. What will become of me in the future, being as beautiful and radiant as I am, I should marry someone more worthy!” Rebecca cried. “I know, I know,” my father’s voice sounded helpless, trying to console Rebecca. Through just a few brief dialogues, it seemed like I understood everything. My steps slowed down as if trying to prolong my peaceful time, for I knew the storm was about to come. At this moment, Violet—my wolf—spoke up, “Evelyn, I sense anxiety and worry rising in you. You’re thinking the same as me, aren’t you? That we’re about to be kicked out of this house and suffer the fate in place of Rebecca.” “I think so, Violet, but we can’t do anything but face it,” I replied. I couldn’t run away, couldn’t resist. In this pack, I was just a weak and unwanted omega. If I left, unless I left the pack entirely, wherever I went, I would still be ostracized and bullied. No one wanted to shelter me. Moreover, if I resisted and didn’t obey, I would undoubtedly be severely beaten. I remembered the most terrible beating I had endured over ten years ago when I accidentally burned a dish that Luna Annabella liked the most. She dragged me out into the middle of the house, forced me to lie prone, and started beating me with a clothesline. Looking back at that dreadful situation, my hand clinging to the staircase railing trembled inappropriately. Just then, a sudden shout jolted me awake. “Evelyn, what are you standing there for? Come down here!” It was Luna Annabella, standing at the foot of the stairs, glaring up at me with a demonic look. With her impatience, I hurried down. “Yes.” “We won’t let Rebecca suffer, because we have Evelyn here. She’s been nurtured for so many years, and now it’s finally paying off. Let her marry instead of Rebecca. Our daughter is an outstanding Omega. She’ll find a worthy husband in the future, unlike that wretched and filthy one. She deserves it!” Every word from Luna Annabella made me shiver. I remained silent, unable to speak. “That’s right, that’s right. She deserves to marry that bedridden man. They’re both unwanted, so they’re a perfect match. Evelyn is also very good at serving others, taking care of a vegetative person who can be both incontinent and bedridden is very reasonable!” “Evelyn...” Finally, my father spoke, and I couldn’t remember the last time he called my name and talked to me in such a gentle tone. “Yes,” I replied. “The thing is, our company is facing some issues and I need a large sum of money to cover it. Currently, the Chambler family agrees to provide us with that money and more. What they ask in return is for me to marry my daughter to Alpha Daniel. He’s been in a coma for a long time, and the Chambler family needs an heir. So they need a daughter who can conceive...” Though I had guessed the problem, what my father said still shocked me. I couldn’t say anything else, my throat bitter, but what I was thinking at the moment was, father, I’m also your daughter... … The next day, the morning sun filtered through the window frame, casting a gentle pink hue into my room. “Wake up, my dear daughter.” Today was the day the Chambler family—Alpha Daniel’s family—came to fetch me, and I hadn’t slept at all last night. Annabella appeared, her voice sweet. Then she pulled me up from the bed. “Today is your wedding day. Let mother help you get ready.” She brought clothes and some jewelry, beginning to take care of me meticulously, grooming me as if I were a precious gem. “For the first time, I’m wearing such a beautiful dress,” I thought to myself, looking at the reflection in the mirror. The dress I wore was a masterpiece, combining the beauty of classical and the glamour of modern times. I had never felt so important. Thinking of this, I couldn’t help but laugh bitterly. The Chambler family members arrived to fetch me. Leading the way was the steward, Thomas, a middle-aged man with graying hair, but his demeanor was extremely dignified. He exuded an aristocratic air that made others deferential and dare not look down on him. “I escort Miss Theodora.” Led out by my stepmother, standing in front of the steward with a demeanor no different from a king, I cautiously glanced at him, then immediately lowered my gaze. “Here she is, incredibly beautiful and healthy, isn’t she? She’ll definitely give birth very well...” Luna Annabella quickly interjected, her flattering attitude clear, but upon receiving the slightly narrowed eyes of steward Thomas, she bit her tongue. “This is the agreed amount. From now on, Miss Evelyn of Beta Brian Theodora’s family will belong to the Chambler family of Alpha Daniel of the Crescent Moon pack.” The steward Thomas stated coldly, and with just a glance from him, a bodyguard behind him approached and opened a suitcase filled with crisp banknotes. Luna Annabella, my father, and Rebecca, upon seeing the money, their eyes lit up like stars, immediately nodding vigorously. “Yes, yes, thank you, of course.” Seeing that suitcase of money, my eyes dulled as they skimmed over it, then a bitter smile spread across my face. So, it turned out I was only worth that much money. I didn’t know that this small action of mine had caught the attention of steward Thomas. But he said nothing, and with little word, he assessed me from top to bottom, then said, “Let’s go.” I left the house I had been attached to for twenty years, stepping into the new world of the Chambler family. Outside, a Rolls-Royce was already waiting. Steward Thomas promptly opened the door for me. “Please, madam.” It was the first time I had been treated so courteously, so I felt embarrassed. I got into the car and was immediately overwhelmed by its interior. But before I could even exclaim, someone had already sat down next to me, so I quickly withdrew my gaze. The car started rolling, leaving behind the house and the three people who had been associated with the hardships of my youth. And I truly never wanted to see them again. Leaning my head against the window, sinking into my thoughts, just then, steward Thomas’s voice suddenly rang out: “This is the artificial insemination agreement. Please look.”
