CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE We climbed into bed, not minding the covers, and the moment I laid my head on the pillow I was asleep. I don’t know how long I slept, but when my eyes flew open the morning dew had vanished, replaced by an afternoon breeze. I’d awoken because of the horrific crash just on the other side of the bed. Two figures leapt up over the edge and grappled with each other. I shot up and gaped at Ros as he fought with a slim figure covered in a tight black outfit. Their form was unmistakably female, and they had pointed ears, but other than a slit for their eyes they were completely covered in their attire. Even their feet showed off a pair of soft black slippers. The intruder leaped back and landed silently on the open windowsill. Her eyes danced for joy as a small chuckle
