*Antonio*
This was the life I was supposed to have. I spent my human life having to suck up to people who thought that they were better than me, landowners and men who had large dowries for their daughters to be married off. Of course they were not interested in a simple man like me taking any of their hands. Then in my vampire life I had to suck up to the likes of Dimitri, the fat sack of s**t could not make a vampire worth his salt if he tried.
Now this district was mine, although I did miss Yasmin. I missed her fire, her passion, the way she would always resist me in such a way that I would have to work wonders with that mind of hers to make her mine. And she was mine for ten glorious years. I still remember her moans, the feeling of her supple skin pushed up against my own, the way she would pretend to be asleep in my arms. Elissa was nothing compared to her, a sad substitute for the most amazing creation I ever had.
I sat on Dimirti’s makeshift throne, my throne. Doyal sat at my right and Elissa at my left, leaning over so I could see right down her dress. She was so obvious, it was a turn off to be honest. I liked to fight for my supper, not have it handed to me on a plate. It wasn’t that she was bad looking or even bad in the sack, it was just all too easy for my liking. Anything I wanted, she did without question and it was all just so… boring.
Nesbit, the newest of my vampires, came running through the doors at the far end of the hall, looking slightly pale. He was so wishy washy. I was hoping, given that he used to be some kind of boxer, that he might end up turning into a Physvey, but I was just lumbered with yet another Telvey. I had been busy since taking over the district, making sure that I had a nice strong group to protect my standing given that although I had everything that was once Dimitri’s, he was still out there and I was sure it would only be a matter of time until he tried to take it all back from me, regardless of what the Master vampire decreed.
I was unimpressed when I met him to be honest. He seemed like he was bored with his title. Well, he would not have to be bored for too long. As soon as I solidified my standing and turned enough vampires to have a small army, I would be coming for it and he could slip off into blissful oblivion. With Yasmin back by my side, I would be able to rule over all vampire kind the way it was supposed to be run, not handing out stupid rules saying that women had the right to refuse to sleep with men. I mean, if I change a woman into a vampire, the least she owes me is what she has between her legs.
Nesbit approached me, ringing his hands together like he was trying to fight with something inside of himself. “What is it?” I eventually gritted out, fed up with the way he was looking around the room like there was a ghost on his shoulder.
“Y-you have a guest sir.” He stuttered out, not sounding too sure of himself.
“Who?” I asked, sighing and rolling my eyes at his inability to deliver even a simple message. Maybe I shouldn’t be so hard on him given that he has only just found out that vampires are real and that he is one of them, but his shiftiness was really starting to piss me off.
“O-one of the M-m-master vampires creations sir.” He stuttered again.
I stood up then, angry that it was taking five minutes to deliver a message that should have only taken one. “Well bring him in, why the hell have you left him waiting?” I bellowed, my voice echoing around the large room. Nesbit turned and ran from the room, thankfully not staying to try and stutter out a response to my rhetorical question. A few seconds later, Drex walked in, looking pissed as he approached me. “I am sorry that you were left waiting, Drex, my new creation is still trying to find his feet.” I half laughed, hoping to elevate some of the tension.
“I am not here to chit chat Antonio.” Drex gritted out, thrusting a note into my hands. I looked at the piece of paper, unsure if this was a sick joke or not. “What is this?” I asked, showing Drex the note like he had not already seen it.
“It states that you are no longer the leader of this District Antonio. It says to pack up your s**t and be done by sunrise or you will be forcibly removed.” Drex hissed, stepping up, going nose to nose with me.
“I had a deal with the Master vampire, I got the district and he got Yasmin.” I looked around him before staring back into his emotionless eyes. “I don’t see Yasmin here, so I think that the deal still stands.”
Drex leaned in closer, a smirk spreading on his face. “I don’t think that you understand. We do not want rapists leading our districts.”
My hand tightened into a fist at my side. “What did you just call me?”
“You heard me.” Drex yelled. “We know what you did, and no, you will not be getting Yasmin back, you will never be getting Yasmin back. You will NEVER see her again.” He took a few steps back, my body shaking with anger. “You have until sunrise Antonio.” He called back over his shoulder before disappearing.
I looked back at the note in my hand, my body shaking trying to contain my rage. I let out a primal scream, turning around to kick and punch into the chair I had been sitting on, shattering the f*****g thing to pieces. He could not do this to me, he could not just take everything that I had, everything that was mine and think that I would just accept it. He thinks that he can take Yasmin and my title, he will be sadly mistaken. I will take everything that is his, I will take everything and make it mine, including Yasmin. He had pushed around the wrong vampire for the last f*****g time.
*Angel*
I opened the door to Yasmin’s room, finding her still sleeping in a ball like she was when I left her at dawn. Yasmin was like no one I had ever met. She was kind, sweet, strong, and it helped that all of that came in a drop dead f*****g gorgeous package. I knew from day one that the Master vampire would have his eye on her, I mean, why wouldn’t he. I was surprised though that she did not just give into his request like so many women before her, proving again how strong she was.
Her room was trashed and I had asked Charles if I could take the night off training to make sure that she was okay, which to my surprise, he had agreed to. Something told me that the little lady sleeping soundly before me, her blonde hair all messed up and tears staining her face from yesterday, had reached more than a couple of hearts with her attitude towards life and death and everything else in between.
As if she sensed my presence, her grey eyes fluttered open, looking around the room for a moment before they landed on me. She let out a long sigh, rolling over onto her back and staring up at the canopy above her. “Are you here to tell me I need to leave?” She asked, her voice void of emotion.
“I am not here to kick you out. I am here to tell you that you have the night off.” I told her.
Still she stared at the ceiling, thumping her fist against her forehead. “So I can pack up my stuff? I don’t want to take any of this s**t with me.” She waved her hand around at the mess that she had made, not bothering to raise her head.
“You are not getting kicked out Yasmin.” I chuckled slightly.
She leaned up on her elbows, looking at me with a furrowed brow. “What makes you say that?” She asked. “Do you know something I don’t?”
I let out a long sigh, leaning against the door frame. “Take a shower, get dressed. Me and you are hanging out tonight.”
She rolled her eyes, looking like she wanted to fight me some more but then got up and walked to the bathroom, slamming the door behind her. I could not help but laugh slightly, thinking about how she was trying to keep her rage inside at what was happening, but failing slightly. She really was one in a million, or maybe even a billion. As vampires, we felt everything so deeply. Love was all consuming, but then again, so was hate, envy, all the deadliest of sins felt like they could tip you over the edge at any moment.
While Yasmin was in the shower, I picked up all the throw pillows and tossed them back onto the bed, rifled through the clothes on the floor to sort those that she had managed to rip to pieces from those that were still intact before placing them back into the wardrobe. There was broken glass from a smashed lamp on the floor that I could not pick up, but I managed to pick up all the pens and pencils that were sprawled around the room, placing them back on the desk.
Letting out a long sigh, I leaned back against the desk, waiting until she came back out. When the door opened, a barrel of steam came behind her, making her look like she was an angel herself or some type of runway model ready to walk the catwalk, even though she was only wearing a towel and her wet hair was plastered all over her face. She looked around the room again before her eyes landed on me. “I cleaned up a bit for you.”
“You didn’t have to do that.” She sighed, walking over to the wardrobe, my c**k hardening as I watched her legs, unable to keep my eyes off the mesmerising pins as she headed to the wardrobe and pulled out some clothes. “But thank you for doing it.” She almost whispered before walking back to the bathroom and closing the door behind her, not slamming it like before.
I smiled again, shaking my head at how much this girl had gotten under my skin. It was not that I did not have luck with the ladies. I was a Physvey and not a bad looking one at that. But, the ratio of men to women here was such that I had never found the one that I wanted to lay claim to, make my own. I could seriously see myself doing that with Yasmin though. She was everything that I had ever wanted in a woman, when I was alive and now.
I was never one that wanted a damsel in distress or someone who only thought of themselves and their appearance. I wanted someone who had more to them than that, who could have a conversation with me, had substance and morals. Yasmin had all of that in abundance.
When Yasmin came back out, she gave me a half smile, looking sexy as hell in a plain set of jeans and a t-shirt. “So, what are we doing tonight?”
“Oh, you will have to wait and see.” I smiled. I walked out the door, waiting a second for her to follow behind me. We walked down stairs, out of the door. Yasmin came to a stop, looking over to the field where the guards were training with the Master vampire and Martyn. I could see a flash of pain in her eyes and I was not sure if it was due to what the Master vampire did last night or the fact that he was carrying on without her like she did not mean a thing.
I waited for a moment, watching as she shook her head slightly from side to side before she looked back at me, giving me a small nod before we continued on down. We walked through the gardens and I could feel Yasmin instantly start to reflax. We didn’t rush, just walked at a slow and steady pace so that she could take it all in. “This is my favourite place in the whole kingdom.” I told her, as she leaned over and smelt one of the flowers.
“I can understand why.” She smiled. My god, that smile could lighten up the darkest of days. We stopped by the side of the garden which was closest to the hot springs, the heat from then fighting off the cold that clung in the night air. Yasmin sat down, looking up at the sky, her face showing nothing but peace and tranquility. It was beautiful, more beautiful than she already was.
For hours, we sat there. Not really talking about much of anything. I knew that that was the right thing to do. I didn’t want to push her, didn’t want her to think about what had happened or what might happen. She deserved to not worry, even if just for a little while, and I felt so much better knowing that I was sharing this time with her, for her.
