**Adira's POV**
I saw the relief and the hope fill her eyes. A second chance mate was rare, but when it happened, the pull was stronger than a normal bond. The need to mark and mate was far more intense and I knew it was true because you could see Zeke's wolf trying to take control and mark her right on the spot. His eyes flickered from green to black, Zeke obviously trying to fight him off. When he finally won, his pained and conflicted eyes looked back and forth from her to me. She looked at me and I could see she was piecing things together.
"He loves you." Tears filled her eyes and I could hear the pain in her voice.
I tried to reach for her but she flinched away. Zeke must be able to feel her pain because I could see him flinch as well. Like his heart was breaking along with hers
