Carly
Loud music blasts from the speakers in the living room, and every little space is occupied by red plastic cups or other types of littering. Frankly, I don’t know what I’m doing here. I told Caden that the part might make me feel better, and he took me here, thinking he was doing me a favor. It was sweet but…Jenna and Jennika’s party is packed with people.
At the time, I thought a party would be the perfect thing to get my parents’ murder out of my head, but now, I’m not so sure. This place is way too loud.
“Are you having fun?” Caden asks me as we walk outside to stand on the porch. There are people all around us, and not even the swimming pool is safe.
“Well, this is definitely an experience—”
“Hey, Caden!”
I’m interrupted by the birthday twins that surround Caden like two female cats in heat. They smile upon seeing him, and I fall silent as they each hug one of his massive arms.
I stand there awkwardly, sipping on my drink as the girls coo over Caden. It’s not that I’m jealous or anything. I just don’t know how to compete with their obvious interest in him.
“So, Caden...” Jennika purrs, running her manicured hand up his thick bicep. “We were thinking of playing a game of Truth or Dare. You in?”
“Truth or Dare?” Caden questions. “You guys still play that?”
Jenna laughs. “It’s fun when alcohol is involved.”
“Not to mention the Alpha,” Jennika adds. “If you’re playing, then it will be so much fun.”
Caden looks over at me. His expression is apologetic. “Do you want to join, Carly?”
I hesitate for a moment but then shrug. “Sure, why not?”
The group gathers in a circle on the porch, and I feel my nerves start to fray as I take a seat beside Caden. I’m not good at this kind of thing, and I don’t want to embarrass myself in front of these people.
“Okay, I will start,” Jenna says. “Caden, truth or dare?”
Caden grins. “Dare.”
“I dare you to give Carly a lap dance.”
My breath hitches, and the girls sitting in the circle are trying not to laugh. They definitely think that I’m a nerd and probably don’t expect Caden to dance.
Caden stands up, his broad shoulders towering over me. He looks down at me with a playful gleam in his eye.
“You ready for this, Carly?” he asks, extending his hand.
I hesitate for a moment but then nod. What is the harm in a little fun?
Caden leads me to the center of the circle, and the music changes to a slower beat. He takes my hands and places them on his chest, then begins to move his hips in a way that makes my heart race.
I can feel his muscles ripple beneath my fingertips as he grinds against me, his breath hot against my neck. My cheeks flush as everyone cheers him on, and I can tell that I’m not the only one getting turned on.
As the song finishes, Caden pulls away from me and offers me a hand. I stumble slightly, still feeling the effects of the lap dance.
“Thanks,” I murmur, feeling a little embarrassed.
Caden just grins, and then we retake our seats.
The game of Truth or Dare continues, and I’m feeling a little more relaxed with each passing minute. Caden is by my side, and I’m glad that he is there to take the spotlight off of me.
The girls dare each other to show their boobs and make out with each other, and I have to fight my jealousy when someone gets dared to kiss Caden on the cheek. He turns to face me as if asking if that’s okay.
I shrug to show that I don’t care, and Caden reluctantly allows Jennika to kiss his cheek. It’s an innocent kiss, but jealousy still simmers in my veins.
What the heck is the matter with me?
More people get asked for truth or dare, and then finally, it’s my turn.
Jennika leans forward, a mischievous glint in her eye. “Okay, Carly. Truth or dare?”
I hesitate for a moment but then decide to take a risk. “Dare.”
Jennika grins. “I dare you to make out with Caden for thirty seconds.”
My heart skips a beat as everyone cheers, and I can feel my cheeks flush with embarrassment. But then Caden turns to me, his eyes smoldering with desire.
“Are you okay with this?” he asks me, looking into my eyes.
I nod, feeling a rush of excitement and anticipation coursing through my veins. For some reason, being dared to kiss Caden feels like the ultimate challenge, and I’m determined to rise to it. He is a player, and I know I shouldn’t get romantically involved with him. Caden would break my heart if I fell in love, but a kiss is innocent, right?
Caden leans in, and I can smell his musky scent mixed with the faint scent of alcohol on his breath. His hands cup my cheeks before sliding to my neck, and his lips brush softly against mine before he deepens the kiss.
It tickles.
Electricity shoots through me as our tongues tangle, and I can feel Caden’s hands moving down my body, grabbing my waist firmly. The kiss intensifies, and I can hear the cheers from the circle around us growing louder.
Holy s**t, the guy knows how to kiss.
I’m losing myself to the heat of the moment, and I can feel my body responding to Caden’s touch. The kiss goes on, and I’m not sure how much time has passed, but it feels like forever.
Finally, we pull apart, gasping for air. My heart is hammering in my chest, and I can feel the dampness between my legs. Caden’s eyes are dark with lust, and I know that I’m not the only one feeling the intense chemistry between us.
“Time is up!” Jennika declares.
My cheeks flush with embarrassment as I pull away from Caden, and I can feel the heat radiating off of my body. Everyone around me is cheering and celebrating, and I look at Caden in surprise. His gaze is stuck on mine, and my heart flutters in response.
Kissing him was a mistake.
As the party continues, I’m dying on the inside. The feelings I’m having for Caden are clearly getting out of hand, and it’s time that I distance myself from him. I can’t get emotionally attached.
I need to stay focused on my future, and Caden would only distract me.
After playing Truth or Dare, I beeline to the bathroom, and when I see Caden talking to Jennika.
Wow, did he ditch me for one of his old hook-ups?
Well, that sucks.
I decide to sit down in the living room. There is a bowl of chips, and I place it in my lap.
“Hey, Gorgeous,” a deep masculine voice says, bringing me back to reality. “Are you having fun?”
I blink my eyes, trying to make out the person in the dark room. I only have to see his height and notice the bulging muscles to realize that it’s Caden.
“What are you doing here?” I ask, feeling a rush of both excitement and dread.
“What do you mean?”
“I saw you talking to Jennika.” And it looked like Jennika was flirting with Caden, but I say nothing about that.
“So?” he asks. “I’m here with you, not her.”
Disco lights flicker on, and I blink a few times to adjust my eyes. Caden takes a seat beside me, his eyes watching me as he reaches out with his hand to steal chips from my bowl.
“Are you okay?” He asks.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Just tired from...everything,” I sigh, allowing him to steal a few chips.
“I get that,” he says, smiling faintly. But then he pauses for a moment, his deep green eyes gazing into mine. “I want you, Carly. A lot.”
I pause, not sure what to say in response. I know that he is just leading me on, and I should tell him that I am not interested. But it feels so good to be wanted, especially by someone like Caden.
‘But he would break your heart,’ a voice inside of me says in a pained voice. ‘He is a player, and when he says that he wants you, he only means sex.’
I swallow thickly, then respond to the voice that must be my inner wolf. ‘But would that be so wrong?’
‘To sleep with him?’ She breathes a laugh. ‘No, I think the s*x would be wonderful, but you and I aren’t in our right state of mind. Your parents just died.’
‘Which is why I want to sleep with Caden. It would take my mind off things.’
My inner wolf sighs. ‘Do what you want, but don’t tell me that I didn’t warn you.’
Before I can change my mind, I kiss Caden.
He tastes like sin, and he wraps his muscular arms around me and holds me close. I press my lips against his, my tongue slipping out of my mouth and licking his bottom lip. He groans and opens his mouth, allowing my tongue to slide into his hoy, delicious mouth.
Why does this feel so right and wrong at the same time?
I push those thoughts aside and deepen our kiss, and as my tongue explores his mouth, I lose myself. Caden’s arms are wrapped around me, and he has one hand on my hip and the other on my thigh. My body is tingling with desire, and I can feel my p***y getting wet. I’m so turned on that I start tugging at Caden’s shirt, desperate to feel his powerful naked body against mine.
I want to feel his c**k deep inside me.
I want to feel his tongue sliding across my skin.
I want to taste his c*m.
Caden breaks our kiss and looks into my eyes. His emerald ones seem to shine in the dark, and I have never wanted anyone as much as I want him.
“Upstairs?” He asks.
My heart flutters in my chest. I can’t believe this is happening. I’m about to lose the V-card to Caden—I’m so nervous and afraid he will change his mind that all I can do is nod.
He smirks in response and leans in close, whispering into my ear in a husky voice. “Good answer. I can’t wait to get you naked. Oh, the things I will do to you. I can’t wait.”
