Chapter 6: Wrong or Right

AMANDA'S POV: Antonio is still quiet, I'm sitting here waiting for a response from him. I've never seen him this quiet. “Hey, why did you get so quiet all of a sudden?" I asked. “Oh, No reason. I was just thinking about something." Antonio replied. “What is it?" Asking softly. “Ahhh. Nothing. We'll talk about it some other time, for now, let's just enjoy the evening!" Antonio said. After our conversation, Antonio went into the kitchen and cooked us burgers and fries. We had another glass of wine with our food. After we finished eating, I thought to myself, “I don't know the first thing about moving out of the country, so I'm going to have to ask Antonio what I must do to move." Before asking him, he asked me if I have everything ready to move? My reply was, “no. I didn't even start yet. I'm not sure what needs to be done before I leave." Antonio asked me if I have my passport and I responded in a confused voice, “No. I didn't know I needed one." He said, “You must have your passport to go to another country, that's the first thing." I looked at him confusingly and asked him if he would take me to get it. He said that he would be glad to. Then while mentioning to him that I'm going to quit my job here, soon, my boss is angry that I called off today. I'm just going to have to be strong tomorrow when he hears that I'm quitting. Not that I want to do it this way, but this job offer is too important to mess up. Antonio says to me, “you gotta do, what you gotta do. This is your life, no one else's." He's right! I thought. So, tomorrow when I'm at work, my boss will know I'm done working here. Our evening comes to an end. Antonio drove me to my house, when we arrived there, he got out and opened the door for me. This time, our lips locked. We kissed passionately and we didn't want it to stop, but we knew we had to. He hugged me and said, “I'll text you tomorrow." Hugging him back, tightly, I said, “I'll be waiting." While walking inside the house, he gave me a honk, goodbye. Turning around with a big smile on my face, waving at him while he drove off, gazing into the sky, thinking this night was perfect. THE DAY AFTER: While I'm at work, waiting for my boss to arrive, feeling nervous about giving him the news, I started cleaning out my desk drawers. I'm halfway done cleaning my desk and looking up at the time, my boss still isn't here. I'm starting to wonder, “where he is, what if he doesn't show up to work today? Then what?" Now I'm more nervous than when I first arrived here. I'm not gonna hold this in any longer, I can't! It's just too much with everything that I must get done before I move. Mel mentioned to me that she would like to throw a going-away party before leaving. I'm supposed to get my passport before I leave. I'm supposed to be in Italy in two weeks. These next few weeks are going to pass by quickly, with everything that needs to be done. So, my boss better come to work today! An hour before my shift ended is when he finally decided to show up. The only thing that's left for me to clean out is my locker. My boss walks up to me, sternly and asks, “What the heck are you doing?" Turning my head toward him, I said, “I quit this stupid job, I'm moving." He looks at me and says, “You're moving? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard." We started arguing. I stood up from my chair, flipped my curls around, almost touching his face, and said, “I QUIT!" Leaving quickly from work, not worrying about the few things in my locker because they aren't important anyway, I walked to Melissa's house. Angrily. My boss should not have treated me the way that he did, that was uncalled for. It's not my fault that a much better opportunity has come my way! Once I arrive at Melissa's house, I knock on her door and she answers. Standing at the front door, asking her if I could come in and talk to her, she said, “yes, but make it quick. I'm going out in a bit. “Mel, I'm just so frustrated with all of this new stuff happening, I feel like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown!" I said, “Amanda, calm down. Tell me what's going on!" Mel replied. “I told my boss I quit since I got a better job, he yelled at me and practically yelled in my face. Then I stormed out of the school. And now, I'm going to need to get a passport to leave the country to go to Italy. This is all happening too soon." I nervously said. “Calm down. I can help you with some stuff. That's what friends are for." Mel replied. 'I sighed' “Oh, thank you. Will you help me though?" I asked. “Of course, I said I would," Mel said. I hugged and thanked her. Then Mel said, “Can we talk about this more tomorrow? My date is waiting for me!" “Oh, yes. I'll call you tomorrow." I replied. Leaving Mel's suddenly, since she has her date, I've decided to walk to the park. I'm going to take a walk through the park and try to calm down and think about everything that's going on. I'm not going to miss this great opportunity for anyone. While trying to clear my thoughts, my mind just keeps racing. “Is it going to be wrong if I move, or am I making the right choice?" Then I'm wondering if I'm thinking too much into this. I'm not going to do this to myself, I'm moving and that's final. I'm so frustrated thinking of all this, the next bench that I see, I'm taking a break. I'm slowly getting out of breath, finally, I see a bench, so I hurried to it and sat down, wiping some sweat off my face. While sitting here thinking, I give Antonio a call. His phone rang seven times and there was no answer. As I sit here, flustered, I'm wondering why he didn't answer his phone.
