“Are you sure you won’t stay for dinner?” My mother asked Aziel after helping me take the groceries inside our house. “I’m almost done cooking and we have enough.” With a polite smile, Aziel shook his head. “I really have to go now. Maybe some other time, Arissa,” he said. “But thanks for the invite.” Mom slightly pursed her lips, then smiled back while nodding her head. “Okay. I won’t keep you from going,” she said and turned to me. “Chandra, you should send your friend off.” My forehead creased. By unnecessarily stressing out that word, I knew she was being a huge tease again. I had decided how it was much better when she had not completely acknowledged Aziel yet. She was really taking all the chances she had to tease us and push us together. She was doing all that in a very obvious
