ADAM pov.
I ran all the way towards where our warriors stationed to spy on the tree hideout. I was just informed that Zane had gone in it and that he had found something in side. When I went there every one was in their position ready for orders.
How long has it been? I asked our head warrior through our link.
He went in four hours ago. He has asked us to wait for instructions.
I nodded. Of course. We didn’t want to attract unnecessary attention. It is almost dawn. Almost time for the guy in the brown cloak to come back. We waiting in anticipation. We waited for any signs of life or any news from Zane. Time ticked by. Our patience didn’t run thin. We have been training all our lives for such situations. We were waiting......not a single soul would have guessed we were there as we were well camouflaged.
Dawn broke. The nocturnal animals would have retreated back in their homes by now. The sky started to show signs of sunrise when we saw him. The guy in a brown cloak approaching the tree in discretion.
Dude. He is here. I want to capture him so that we could interrogate him.
I mind linked Zane so that he would know in advance. Then he could be properly prepared.
ZANE pov
He will come back. I’m sure. I wanted to strangle him to death for chaining my innocent mate. But I will have to knock him out. He needs to be interrogated. He cannot just choose to make a hidden dungeon our land. Moreover, he had locked up my mate here, our pack’s beta female. She might have no idea about it, but I am pretty sure she will stay. Even Luke is with us. I just didn’t let her know about it because, I didn’t know if she would believe me.
I wonder what she had to go through when she was locked in this dungeon. I must say that she is a fighter. The fire in eyes had not died down regardless of the circumstances. I promise, I would make this guy, and who ever involved in it suffer ten times more, for locking up my beautiful mate in this lonely place.

The small man in the brown cloak didn’t notice anything different. He whispered the magic word silently so the door would open revealing a staircase. This place was built by his master in order to keep his special prisoner captive for as long as he wanted. He had to be as silent as he could, because these woods were filled with different kinds of mystical creatures, even though this place was far away from their kingdom. They had to choose a place far away from their realm to minimise the chances of the princess escaping. She was a powerful witch who's powers had just being completed. She had being training secretly in order to strengthen her powers. So they had to use the spell of suppression on her so that she cannot use it. But the spell had to be renewed every day, if not her powers will be back.
It has become a daily routine for him for the past few months to return every morning so that he could force feed her, because she wouldn’t eat on her own. Then he would cast the spell of suppression.
He sighed as he descended down the stairs. As much as he hated forcing the princess he didn’t have much of choice. He had pledged his loyalty to his cruel master, and now if he denies his orders he and his family would be killed. The stairs led straight to the cell where she was kept. The darkness of the under ground was dimly lit, thanks to magic. He didn’t waste anytime and entered the cell without a second thought.
He had pulled the cloaked over his face so that she wouldn’t have to see his face. She wouldn’t have to see his real expression as he was forced to carry out his orders. Yes. He regretted his decision to pledge loyalty to him, but now there was no other choice.
He tried his best to mask his voice as he spoke with her. He was surprised to see that she had eaten her food. “this is a first. I see you have made my work easier today.” He smirked. “ Now I can get back home a lot faster than before.”
“ I can’t believe you had the nerve to betray the kingdom and take that traitor's side!” Aisha screamed.
He chuckled, “ fiesty aren’t we? I believe you are in no position to show much resistance” he laughed and started to recite the mantra which would drain all her powers.
ZANE pov.
What was he doing? He started to recite some hocus pocus and it was clearly affecting my mate. My blood boiled. How dare he hurt her. He knew that she was innocent, he should have proved his loyalty to his true king and queen.
My movements were swift and smooth. With two long strides and one sharp blow he was unconscious on the floor. I looked at him with disgust. We would have a welcome party for him in our dungeons. We already have had Wilma cast spells on our dungeons so that they cannot use their magic in there. I mind linked my team to make their move. I pulled out the chains from her hands as she stared at me with her mouth wide open.
“Wow. That was.... awesome. I have never seen anyone break up a chain without magic, and not to mention you just knocked him out cold”
I smirked. She is impressed. Good for me. I held her hands to help her stand up as she looked weak. Sparks erupted from where our skin touched. She looked at me with beautiful brown eyes confused.
“Do you feel that?” she asked.
Oh, so she is feeling the sparks. I looked at her eyes and we fell into trance. My breathing hitched and I felt my heart race. I gulped not knowing if I could fight the urge to kiss her.
ADAM pov.
Finally, after waiting for what felt like ages we received a signal from Zane. We moved quickly towards the door of the trunk.
One of the warriors kicked on the roots and soon we were in a dimly lit room. I could smell Zane in here. So I followed his scent. I ended up in another dimly lit room where we found a bundle of brown cloth on the floor, which I guessed was the man we had been spying on. A little further was Zane, and a young woman who seemed to be lost in each other's eyes.
" Take him to the dungeon. Fast." I ordered my warriors. They were quick to obey me. I raised my eyebrows at the couple who seemed to be unaware of what was happening in the room.
I patted on Zane's back, I couldn't hold back the smirk creeping on my face as Zane shook himself out of the daze he was in. "So, let's go."
We went managed to find a flight of stairs which lead us back to the outside world.
