Chapter 20 Hennes Corp.

1512 Words
At the gate of Hennes Corp. Staring at the big plate of black background and gold letters of Hennes Corp, Daisy’s face looked alert. Marlow saw her expression and tried to make her relaxed, “Daisy, don’t be afraid. They owe us money, not the reverse. We come to get our money back. We can’t lose in spirit.” Daisy felt embarrassed. She blushed and said, “I know. I just…feel nervous.” Marlow grinned and padded his chest, “Don’t be afraid. You have me. To tell you the truth, when I was selling things abroad, I had to go collect the p*****t too. I have a lot of experience in this matter.” Daisy’s beautiful eyes widened. “Wow, you are awesome. You have been abroad? What did you sell then?” “Haha! I sold various things. Whatever was profitable, I sold that. The most profitable thing is munitions,” said Marlow with a lowered voice. Daisy burst out laughing. “You are humorous. Why didn’t you say you sell atom bombs?” Marlow opened his arms helplessly and said, “See, I knew you wouldn’t believe me.” Daisy wrinkled her nose and said, “You think I’m silly.” She cheered up in fact. She thought Marlow was teasing her because she looked tense. She didn’t know that Marlow was telling the truth. He did sell munitions abroad, especially in Africa where there were wars. Many small countries were at war against each other. Their governments remained in power only for a few months or even a few days. Marlow made money out of both sides. The adversaries used his arms and ammunition. Money flowed to him as water flows to the sea. Anyway, Daisy felt much better after hearing what Marlow said. She clenched her fists and perked up. Then she started to teach Marlow, “You are new to this company and you don’t know much of the situation. You follow me in my back. If something bad happens, you run as quickly as you can. One of us has to go back to report to our leaders. You run faster than I do. So be watchful, okay?” Looking at Daisy’s serious face, Marlow wanted to laugh. But he suppressed his laugh and nodded earnestly. “Okay.” He put his hands into his pocket and languidly followed the nervous Daisy into Hennes Corp. After they went in, they found the office was as noisy as the market. The Hennes Corp had many people, but none of them looked like decent people. Most of them were half-naked and they stayed in groups and clamored. Looked closely, Marlow found that some were playing cards, some were throwing dice and some even had moved a roulette wheelset to the office and were gambling. At the reception counter, a girl was holding a small mirror, swaying her head left and right to fix her makeup. When she caught sight of Marlow and Daisy, she became brisk and put down the eyebrow pencil, made eyes at Marlow and said, “Hey, cute guy. What can I help you?” Though nervous, Daisy walked ahead to block Marlow behind her. She clenched the corner of her clothes and said gingerly, “Hello. We are from Watson Group. Is Mr. Foxon in?” Hearing that they were from Watson, the enthusiasm faded from that girl’s face. She sat down and started to draw her eyebrows again. She said in a sarcastic tone, “Watson Group? Are you coming to collect the p*****t? Perhaps last time our men pulled their punches. I’m sure they won’t this time. You’d better go back if you don't want to end up in the hospital with broken arms and broken legs.” Daisy shuddered at her words, but she was persistent. She bit her lip and asked again, “Is Mr. Foxon in?” “Wow, you are brave. Do you think you will be alright as long as you look cute? If you are determined to be a wreck, then come with me.” As she said, she put down the eyebrow pencil and pushed open the small door of the counter and came out. That coquettish girl was cold to Daisy but she was enthusiastic to Marlow. After came out from her reception counter, she winced her way to the side of Marlow and winked at him. “Cute guy, can you give me your number? Maybe you will feel lonely someday.” “Haha, but you are not my cup of tea if I feel lonely.” That girl flew into a great rage and snorted, “Don’t be so smug. You will have to kneel down in front of me and beg me to save you in a moment.” Marlow smiled and ignored her. The three of them walked inward. A group of gamblers saw the innocent and lovely Daisy and their eyes became lascivious. “Hey, girl, come here. Come to my arms.” “Haha, I just won some money want to spend on some girls. Come here, let me examine your body and offer you a price.” “Lucy, you are cruel. How could you have the heart to push such a lovely girl to the tiger den?” The coquettish girl called Lucy retorted, “Bullshit! You shut your big mouth up! They are from Watson Group and want to collect the p*****t!” Her words aroused more unbridled laughter. “Haha! Is the boss of Watson Group an imbecile? They sent a girl to collect money? They want to use a honey trap scheme this time? The president will play the first round with this girl and I will play the second round.” “F*ck! Who says you can play the second round? Let me tell you. None of you can compete with me. I’ll get the second round!” The coquettish girl waved her arm and shouted at them, “Shut up, all of you! I don’t care about what you do to the girl, but this guy pissed me off. You should entertain this guy for me later. I don’t like his looking.” “No problem, as long as Lucy has opened her mouth.” “How about reshaping his limps?” “Sh*t! Since he has offended Lucy, ending up in a wheelchair the rest of his life would be the lightest treatment.” “…” Daisy’s pale face turned as white as the wall. Marlow padded her shoulder and said gently, “Don’t be afraid. They are just a group of weak guys. They can only bark, not bite. Didn’t you see they just stay there barking?” “Okay.” Daisy felt somewhat relieved at Marlow’s words. She kept her eyes straight and walked ahead. After they went upstairs, the coquettish girl stopped at the most magnificent door and said coldly, “Wait here.” She then knocked on the door and opened it herself and went in. After a short moment, the door opened again and the coquettish girl showed up and said, “You can come in now.” Inside the office, a bulky man in a suit was sitting behind an executive desk. He was big and strong but appeared less rascally than the men downstairs. He was wearing gold-rimmed glasses, a meticulously tied necktie and shining leather shoes. One might say he was robustly constructed, but he looked like a farmer who just washed off the mud on his feet and put on a suit and became a businessman in town, rather than a head of a gang. “Hello, Mr. Foxon. We are from the sales department of Watson Group. My name is Daisy Lavin. His name is…” The man revealed his true self as soon as he saw Daisy. He didn’t wait until Daisy finished her words but waved his arm and interrupted her. “It doesn’t matter who he is. What matters is you. Come, sit down please, Miss Lavin. What do you want to drink?” “No, thank you. Don’t bother.” Daisy replied softly and sat down on the couch as if she was sitting on pins and needles. “Haha, Miss Lavin’s coming adorns our place…Is that the right term, adorn? Aha, I am a learned man. Too many words in my mind and they fight against each other sometimes.” As he thought he was behaving quite fashionably, Kadir Foxon leaned back on his big chair and scratched the back of his big head as he feasted his eyes on Daisy’s beauty. “What can I do for you, Miss Lavin?”
