CHAPTER TWENTY
Remi stared at her partner as he rushed out the door. This man handcuffed at her feet had obviously gone into Professor Carter’s room to get information on Spencer, and then tried to kill her.
She sent him a quick text wishing him luck and asking him to keep her informed, then he turned to the man at her feet. He looked Spanish, and he looked like he was only pretending to be unconscious.
“You,” she nudged him with her foot. “You better start talking.”
Still, he pretended. She resisted the urge to kick him.
“He’ll talk when we get him to the station,” DCI Connor said. “The Bobbies will be here in two minutes. I called an ambulance as well.”
He winced and looked at his hand. Sweat had broken out on his face. The shock was wearing off and now the pain must be overcoming
