DANIEL
I f*****g knew it was a bad idea, but I still f*****g left her there. What if something terrible happened to her? Mary would never forgive me.
The rain is madly pouring, and I am driving like a maniac. I cannot wait to get there and take my baby girl out of there. For her father’s sake, I hope she is okay.
As I drive into the driveway, I notice that the door is open. It is raining and it is cold. Who the hell does this? I get out of my car and run towards the house before I let myself in.
Holy f**k! Is this some kind of a tavern? I am not saying that I have a problem with townships but if this was happening in the suburbs, the police would have been there to call this whole thing off. It is so stuffy in here, and everyone is drunk. Look at how dirty the house is with mud. This is not a place for Yolanda, I am taking her away from here.
I walk to where everyone is, and these drunk women want to f*****g touch me. As one clung to me, I grabbed her neck and pushed her to the floor. I find Richard, Paula’s father sleeping on the couch while people are doing whatever they want in the house. Goodness, when last did he bath?
I grab him up with the collar of his shirt and shake him vigorously.
“Rich! Wake up, bastard!”
He squints his eyes a little open and just when I let him go, he falls back to the couch.
“Rich, what the hell is happening here?” I look around and pull my gun out and point it around. Everyone starts screaming and ducking. “You all have five seconds to leave,” I warn them.
“Come on, we are here to celebrate a birthday,” The woman I pushed down says in a drunk tone. I shoot at the vas next to her and everyone screams.
“You have three seconds. That was a warning but when I shoot again, there is going to be blood all over the place,”
In less than a second, the door became very small as they all pushed each other out. As I turn to Richard, I notice him on the floor behind the couch. Weakling!
“Richard, what the hell was happening here?”
“What do you want; did you come to kill me the same way you killed the love of my life? I know you killed her… I just know it,” He starts sobbing.
I just shake my head and shove my gun in the back of my pants before I walk down the hallway, calling out to Yolanda.
“Yolanda, where are you, baby girl? Yolanda!?”
I hear the door I just passed unlocking, and there she is, trembling and crying, looking so scared. I quickly rush to her and hug her.
“It’s okay, daddy is here now. I am never going to leave you here again, okay?” I let go of her and enter her room to get everything, and I am happy to see that she hasn’t unpacked anything. “Sit on the bed for so long while I take your things to the car. It is still raining,” I tell her as I start with the suitcases and then come back for the rest of the things before I get her.
As we were about to walk out of the house, we come face to face with Richard and he seems quite surprised to see Yolanda.
“Yolanda, my daughter… I didn’t see you; when did you get here?”
Yolanda scoffs, running out of the house. I was about to walk out of the house, but I could not leave without doing one thing. I turn back and punch the drunkenness out of Richard, knocking him out.
“What did Mary ever see in you, coward?” With that said, I walk out and shut the door.

Now that Yolanda is with me, I don’t need to drive like a maniac, but I am certain that I have a number of speed tickets that are coming my way. As I stop at the red traffic light, I use the time to absorb Yolanda, sleeping so peacefully on the passenger seat.
The dress that she is wearing is exposing her brown, silky bantam thighs, and my misbehaving hands are very tempted to touch them, but it takes everything in me to rheostat myself.
Damn, Yolanda. What are you doing to me? I have had women throwing themselves on me, calling me a panty dropper lately. My heart has been covered in ice since your mother left us but you, baby girl, you have the heat that could melt my cold heart, and I could be the man to show you the world. It sounds wrong for now, but I promise it will feel right… if only I had the courage to say this when you are awake.
As the robot turns green, I continue driving to my house, and as I drive for a while, I notice a car that has been following me for a while. I need to take it round in circles until I lose them, but what I know is that I cannot lead them to my house where I live with my kids. I hope Yolanda does not wake up anytime soon.
I grab my phone and call Capo.
“Alpha, is there anything you need?”
“Send men to my house and make sure they guard it with their lives because my children are alone. There is a car following me behind and I cannot deal with it right now. I need you to come and handle it,” I say.
“Where are you?” He asks and I tell him the kind of car that is following me and the roads I am leading it.
We go around for a few minutes until I no longer see the car and I finally get to a private building of forty-eight floors and park my car in the private basement garage. I heave a sigh and look at Yolanda. I want to wake her up, but she is just so beautiful, and it would be rude to wake her up.
She pouts her bow-shaped lips as she slightly moves, her black shoulder-length hair falls on her face and my hands cannot resist touching her soft brown skin, so I softly place the back of my hand on her cheek, slowly and gently removing the hair off her face. She slowly opens her hazel-brown eyes and turns to me. “Daddy, are we home?” Her voice is so sweet like I could kiss her juicy lips right now. “Daddy, are you okay?” She asks, bringing me back from my dirty thoughts.
Dammit! I cannot keep on going on like this.
“Not exactly home. I could not drive home in this heavy rain. Come on, let’s go inside,” I unbuckle her seatbelt before I open the door for her, and I do the same with myself.
We head to the elevator that sends us straight to the forty-eighth floor where my penthouse is. We get to the door, and I enter the code, unlocking it before it opens.
I let Yolanda walk in first, and I could tell by her smitten face that she loves it here.
“Welcome to Daddy’s paradise,”
She walks towards the curved staircases leading upstairs where the bedrooms are but stops midway.
“It’s a penthouse, Daddy,” She says, almost in disbelief.
“Do you like it?”
“I could live here, Daddy. I love it, but it is too high. My fear of heights is overwhelming. I think I will stay away from these gigantic windows and glass walls,”
Oh, I am going to make her get over her fears because I would like to pin her against these glass walls someday and make love to her.
My phone rings and I excuse myself.
“Did you get them?” I ask as soon as I answer Capo’s phone call.
“Yes, Alpha. They just had an accident as we speak. Nothing will trace back to the pack, so it will look like their car slipped off due to heavy rain,”
“Very well, Capo. Do you know who the car belonged to?” Just then, Yolanda walks to where I am, and I am forced to end the call.
“Is there food in the house? I haven’t eaten since morning,”
“No, dear. But there is a twenty-four-hour kitchen service available in this building, so you can use the landline to call and order a meal – any meal you want.”
***
We ordered a late dinner and as we are eating, I asked Yolanda about what happened. I am really sad this is how she had to spend her birthday. Her father is really such a waste of disappointment, but I am glad that we made a little something for her in the morning with her friends. That should count as something good that happened today. She should hold on to it.
“Did mom know about this penthouse?” She asks before she sips her juice.
“She knew about this whole building and all the penthouses because I own them and rent them out,” I say, mindlessly. Her eyes dilate, but quickly recovers and nods.
“My dad will be soba in the morning, I would like to go back then,” She utters, making me lose my appetite.
I sit back on my chair and tilt my head, folding my arms.
“We are going home tomorrow; I am not taking you back there. If you are worried about Thando, I,”
“It has nothing to do with Thando. I would rather be with my father,”
“I am YOUR FATHER, dammit!” I roar, and she jumps, a little frightened. s**t, I almost showed her my scary side.
“No, you are THEIR father. You treat them differently than how you treat me. You are confusing me because you are being nice to me right now, but you hate me tomorrow. One day you are hot and the next you are cold. You are very hard on me, daddy, and I just can’t deal with it, it is too much. Daddy, I became a laughingstock at school for a month because you did something to Fana that forced him to break up with me the way he did at school. Do you know how painful that was because he just dumped me because of something that you did to him? My life becomes difficult when I am at your house, and yes, Thando adds to it, but she is someone I can handle, but you dad,” Her tears stream out of her eyes, and I find myself placing my hand on her cheek, staring into her gorgeous wide eyes. It is such a turn-on to hear her yelling at me like that, I could just shut her up with a kiss.
My little lioness.
She closes her eyes and leans her face on my hand. Why is she doing that? Before I get lost in the moment, I clear my throat and remove my hand from her.
“Upstairs, the room in the middle will be the room you use to sleep in,” I sonorously say. I stand and make my way upstairs. “I will get someone to bring your things up from the car. See you in the morning.”
I get to my bedroom and shut the door. What the f**k am I doing?
I look down at my pants, and a tent has formed. Is this what she meant when she said I am hard on her? Here comes another night of taking a cold shower.
