AVERY
After what feels like hours, our tears finally dry up. Neither of us speaks for a while; too busy sorting through our own erratic thoughts. My twin’s fingers trail through my hair absentmindedly.
Amber’s voice snaps me from my overactive mind. “A, what happened? Is it Daniel?” She murmurs.
“Yeah.” My voice comes out small and weak.
“What did he do? Did he hurt you?” She demands.
“The only thing that’s hurting is my heart.” I squeeze my eyes shut in pain.
“I’m going to kill him. Tell me what happened, right this second.” Always the protective sister. I love her to death but sometimes she jumps to conclusions. “I need every detail A, start at the beginning.”
