Chapter 9. Gifts and ungrateful guys The house was empty when I walked in. Asher wasn't in yet. I finished my assignments and studied for the Quiz I had tomorrow on Trigonometry. I took out the jar of chocolate cookie and sat in front of TV. I wasn't looking at TV, I was staring at the door waiting for Asher to arrive. When I heard his car, I ran to the front door – like an eager 60’s wife – and waited for him to get down. I wanted to give him the gift before I’d change my mind.
