The list of names and faces grew too long for Nathan to have any hope of remembering them all.
“Give it time,” said Karl. “You’ll get there.”
The fact remained that some of the carnival folk did manage to make more of an impression on Nathan than others. Beth-Ann was the large woman he’d seen being groomed when he first arrived. Despite her immense bulk, her voice had all the qualities of a young, pre-pubescent girl.
