“I see.” After a few more questions, Stan reached for a handshake and thanked her for showing up. Even without having ever had a job interview before, Bailey could see this was a bad sign. The other interviews went no better. Not only was it clear that her lack of experience was a problem, but she wasn’t even prepared for life in the way most people her age were. She’d spent so much time as a sheltered child, she didn’t know how to be a self-sufficient grown-up. On the bus, back to Jess’ place, she sat there, hoping nobody scary would sit next to her.
