“Yeah?”
“I just hope he doesn’t find you first.”
“Awwww, you the sweetest. But I’ve got to find the courage to get rid of the boyfriend I have right now.”
“I’m sure you will. You did pretty well against that bag.”
With a gentle smile, Janet drifted out the door and to her apartment. Her face nearly hurt from smiling so much.
Although her visit with Maggie left her feeling elated, a quick glance at her phone reminded her that Phil was still a problem. He had called a few more times in the last few hours. Janet didn’t even bother to check her messages. She’d leave that crisis for another day.
Later that night, memories of her and Phil flooded her head. They’d met in college days after she’d arrived to the University of San Francisco from a small town in Northern Colorado called Redson.
