Chapter 3Eli did come back to Duckworth’s to try the BanaNut Bowl, but the next time Alexi saw them after that was outside Joe & Lorenzo’s Pizza and Hoagies. Alexi was there with their friends, Beth, Pat, and Quinn, sitting on the benches enjoying some sandwiches. They had just posted their cheesesteak on Foodspotting and were getting into actually eating it. Out of nowhere a figure walked up and sort of awkwardly waved.
“Hi!” Eli said. “Alexi, right? From Duckworth’s?”
Alexi wasn’t used to customers addressing them in public unless they were locals. They supposed Eli was a local now, technically. Even so, they weren’t sure how to respond. “Yeah. Hi Eli.”
