Her blatant threat was followed by a smile that bunched her cheeks into two rounds. Utterly cute and unassuming of the threat to the man's chastity.
Cassius was most definitely taken aback at her audacity to speak such words without understanding the consequences.
Primrose observed him closely. She was ready to bolt out the door the moment he went mad from overload annoyance. However, Cassius didn't try to kill her.
Her eyes fell on his lips that curved into a smirk again. He rubbed his jaw, asking, "Why do you assume I haven't kissed before?"
Primrose blinked, was that the point? It wasn't! Well, not her fault for always expecting the worst of him after that night.
"Aren't you law bound not to be involved with anyone before marriage?" She sprouted a bunch of nonsense.
Cassius followed up with his own, "Of course not. I am not a prince like your ex boyfriend. I can do whatever I want."
"Ah, that's going too far. You can't do whatever you want." Primrose smiled triumphantly, "That's why you need me. So give me a wedding."
Cassius let out an inaudible sigh. The resignation in that breath was recognised by Primrose. She stood up straight and dusted her hands.
"I'll be waiting for news. I want to get married earlier than Helena and Austin."
Cassius frowned, "Aren't you too demanding? Don't think I'll not scrap this deal."
Primrose turned around to leave without replying.
Cassius's eyes fell on the shimmering golden light at her fingertips.
Primrose rubbed her fingers together and let go. The shimmering light disappeared into nothingness.
Primrose turned ever so slightly to see him frown with his entire face, not happy at all at being manipulated into doing something he doesn't want to.
The happiness of annoying Cassius lasted until the third step out of his study. All of the satisfaction left her body like a soul out of the dead.
It was inevitable to run into people who live in the palace. Out of all, she wasn't expecting to see her ex rushing over like a bull in broad daylight.
Primrose acted as if she didn't see him and carried on her way to the exit. The invisible ghost wasn't ready to be treated as invisible. He called out to her.
"Rose!" His voice was loud and clear, but Primrose didn't stop.
"Rose!" He called again.
Primrose's leisure pace continued towards the front door. The servants stopped their work and turned to see who has the audacity to not stop after being called twice by the prince. When they spotted the woman in red, they hastily gathered to see what would happen next.
The incident that the front gate had already spread. Primrose was unaware and unbothered.
Austin rushed over to catch up, "Primrose!" He grabbed her arm and turned her around.
Primrose put on a professional suprised look on her face as soon as they were face to face. Everything aside, even if this prince wasn't a complete jerk inside and out, Primrose still found him unattractive.
The mundane brown eyes and black hair just didn't do it for her. Suddenly, a pair of hateful amber eyes came into her mind for comparison. Primrose shivered and came back to her sensed.
"Yes?"
"I called you so many times! Why didn't you stop?!" Austin was evidently and rightfully angry.
"Calling me? When?"
"I called you -"
"My name is Primrose," she cut him off. With a flick, she removed her arm from his hold. Her polite demeanour was as cold as ice.
"I do not respond to any other name."
Austin was taken aback by her response. He finally took the time to actually step back and look at her properly. From all aspects, she didn't resemble the woman he left behind without prior notice.
"You never wore red before." He conveniently pointed out.
"With all due respect, your highness," Primrose tucked her hair and raised an eyebrow very disrespectfully, "What does that have to do with you?"
Cold air blew past them but the chilling feeling only invaded Austin. Primrose smiled and waved at him, took the chance to turn and leave.
Primrose looked down at her fiery red dress, no wonder she attracted that bull. With a resigned shake of her head, she left the palace with the sound of clacking heels.
She really hated such tangles in relationships. Primrose who occupied this life before was a coward through and through. The evaluation still stood correct.
Austin was a jerk and never hid that aspect of his personality. Primrose wasn't seen as an invalid omega by the outside world and even the youngest prince approached her, her starving heart accepted whatever was thrown at her.
She never questioned anyway, didn't stand up for herself and never thought of repaying their unkind behaviour with her own. Hence, now the Primrose of present had to set them straight one by one as she wasn't as docile as the one who left.
Fortunately all of these people were too dumb to actually react to her obvious change. Except for Cassius.
That man was one hell of a page turner.
A slight title of her head gave a clear view of the closed window of the room she had just been in. She raised her hands and enclosed her fingers into a fist twice.
Inside the study, the pen flipping between his fingers clattered to the floor. Cassius's amber eyes darkened at her turned back. The red of her dress was inked into his memory like a stain he'd never forget.
He didn't know how to feel. A strange phenomenon that never happened before, and have been occurring way too frequently since the night they met.
Half of Primrose personality development from being a single child with way too many people taking care of her. If that didn't scream spoiled then nothing else would.
Having shaken the regent to the core by demanding a wedding and snapping back at the prince made her way too hungry. The driver was sent back earlier so Primrose had no choice but to hail a cab.
"Stop at a nearby burger spot please," Primrose said to the cab driver.
Her research was on point. Other than looking at the similarities about everything else, she also made sure that the food she often ate was also the same.
Otherwise how was she expected to survive if they are weird dragon food? Considering the world's obsession with dragons, the possibility was not low.
Thankfully the past three months of her life went smoothly and her staples were still available. Grabbing a burger, Primrose ate it in the cab itself.
Back home, Primrose was welcomed by the sight of her family gathered in the open living room again. They seemed to be very fond of the space. They were always there. With Helena being an addition sometimes.
Primrose smiled at them without greeting. She had eaten until full and wanted to take a nap.
Unfortunately her family didn't agree with the idea and called upon her the moment they saw the red color of her dress by the foot.
