EPISODE 30- Creature

“Shut Up David! People are trying to sleep!” Yelled Karl after hearing David scream.

“But Karl, I saw a weird creature in my bed!” Spoke David as he points his finger to his bed

Karl then got out of his bed and checked David's bed, he started by flipping the blanket, Karl wasn't able to see any creature. He then kneeled down the floor and inspected under David's bed.

Karl did not see any creature as David claimed, this caused him to look at the frightened David with a strange look. He then spoke, “David please stop being a coward, you even have bravery skill. Such annoyance I'm going back to my bed, so get out of there.”

David with a teary eye look then begged, “Please Karl, let's share bed one for the night! ”

Karl then looked at him weirdly and straight answered David's request. “No!”

“Eek! B-but…what if the creature comes back!?!”

“There's no creature David, it must be just your mind's imagination. So just go back to your bed please.”

David then didn't reply to Karl but started trembling, Karl noticed that David's trembling wasn't acting. “Geez, your such a coward David, I will allow it just for tonight.”

“T-thanks,” spoke David.

Karl and David then now slept on one bed, which looked cramped as the bed was only meant for a single person. But as Karl was about to doze off, he suddenly smelled something weird. The smell resembles a rotting fish oil, not only but he suddenly felt his body somehow became heavier.

“David, will you remove your leg from my chest, it's heavy.” David wasn't able to see what's above him as he sleeps with his blanket covering his entire body and face.

David who was still unable to sleep answered, “I'm not putting my leg on your chest.”

“Enough with the pranks David, then what's this heavy piece of weight above my chest.”

“Seriously dude, both my feet are right here,” after speaking those words, David then kicked Karl's leg with both his feet. “See now! Both leg and feet are there and not on your chest.”

Karl suddenly had a surprise expression written in his face after hearing David. Cold sweat suddenly trickled down Karl's forehead, he then grabbed the edges of the blanket and slowly pulled it down.

He then took a peek on what was above his chest, when he saw it, Karl suddenly became pale upon seeing the thing above him.

What Karl saw was a black hairy and oily body, with hair that reaches its shoulders. Karl with his instincts suddenly used his skill “Dash!” which teleported him towards his sword. He then aimed his weapon at the hairy figure and yelled, “Who are you!?!”

David was surprised by Karl's voice that it caused him to look at Karl's side but to his surprise, he found the creature that he feared next to him. He then jumped out of David's bed out of shock, he then grabbed his sword and pointed it to the figure.

“Sorry, David, but you were kinda right this time.”

“I told you that there was something here!”

“Just shut up and let's capture this thing,” yelled David as he runs toward the creature, David also did the same.

As Karl got near he immediately slashed his sword targeting the figure's hand. But as he was about two inches near the figure then disappeared into thin air, however, his sword clashed with David's creating a light spark on the edges of their blades.

Karl immediately stopped his sword and immediately observe the room, to search for the figure.

As Karl looked David suddenly yelled, “Behind you!” causing him to turned as he swung his sword, which successfully hit the creatures in its hip.

The figure who was now injured then jumped back to the darkest part of the room. “I won't let you get away,” yelled Karl as he chased the creature with his sword.

The creature like before suddenly disappeared into thin air, causing Karl retreat and regroup near David. “Sharpen your senses David,” that thing might attack us at every corner of this room.

David and Karl then leaned back against one another and looked at every corner of the room. However, they have only focused on the corners and not above, so in a swift moment, the creature suddenly falls down from above which caught both Karl and David off guard.

The creature then flicked its arms causing its hand to hit Karl's face with its nails, creating a scar. But the creature paid attention to Karl too much and didn't notice David, which had already swung his heavy sword towards the creature.

The sheer impact of David's sword hitting the creature created an unsettling sound of bones breaking inside the creature's body. David's sword still carried the creature, this gave him an idea of how to capture the creature. He then switches his original 180° curve s***h, to a downward s***h by 80° to the floor, causing the creature to be stuck between the floor and his oversized sword.

The creature then let out a loud screech as it tried to escape David's sword. The sharp edge of his sword was also buried four inches into the creature's body, which was struggling to escape by biting the sword. Karl who was able to recompose himself also rushed toward David and the creature.

Karl then punctured the creature in the shoulder using his sword. Causing it to move less, then the door of the room suddenly burst open and the village chief along with eight guards entered.

The village chief then walked towards the two and asked. “What's the noise about!…” Caleb then had a surprise looked at his face when he saw the pinned down creature, “What is that!?!” he yelled, as he halted from coming near David and Karl.

“We don't know, but this thing started attacking us. Could you tell your guards to bring some restraints, we might have a new clue about the disappearing maidens.”

Caleb then looked at the guards and ordered, “Go get some chains.” Two of the guards then left the group to get the chains, but as they left the female members of the party also arrived.

Marcia who walked inside the room with the other girls had a worried look upon seeing Karl's injured face, she even didn't pay attention to the creature captured Karl and David. Marcia then dashed forward him and asked, “Karl, what happened to your face!?”

“I got careless so this figure caught me off guard.”

Marcia then held her right palm into Karl's injured face and cast a healing spell, “Heal!”, a green magic circle which is the same size as Marcia's hand suddenly appeared. The wound that was into Karl's face glowed the same color of the magic circle, it then slowly closed its self.

“Thanks, Marcia, ” spoke Karl with a smile.

“Next time Karl be careful, your gonna make me worried if you are this careless. ”

“Yeah, yeah, sorry.”

“Will ya two lovebirds stop that, especially you Karl this thing is starting to overpower my sword.”

Bella had a disgusted look at the creature that she even had the hair in her body stood up upon gazing on it. Lucy looked at the creature with her still expressionless look.

“What the hell is that!?!” asked Bella as she hides begins Lucy. Karl answered her, “We don't know but David said he saw this thing under his bed.”

“No not you under my bed, I have seen this creature under the bed of the last victim, where Karl found the last card.”

“What!?! You should've told me about this creature before Karl! ”

“Well even if I tell you, Karl, you wouldn't even believe me, like how I told you about this under my bed. ”

“That's a different story, I'm just like that because you have become annoying!”

“What the hell! How did I become annoying!”

“David, you were always have been like that.”

After hearing Karl David looked at his party members and asked them. “Hey, guys is it true that I have always been annoying!?”

All of the female members of the party nodded and replied, “Yes.”

“Come on now don't be like that!?”

As they were talking, the guards that have been tasked to get chains have returned. Chief Caleb then ordered the guards, “Restrain that creature last once.”

The eight guards then chained the creature with the chain restraints they brought. Within fifteen minutes they were able to subdue the creature using the iron restraints. The guards then dragged the creature to a cell that the village has.

“What was that creature?” asked the village chief Caleb to the adventurers.

Bella replied, “We actually don't know, what that thing is.”

“I see so that creature is also a mystery to you guys, hmm maybe the old man Cyrus knows what that creature is.”

“Wait, the old coachman?” spoke Karl who has cleaned his sword.

“Yes, his actually a former adventurer who has encountered numerous monsters before, so there's a possibility he might know what that thing is.”

Meanwhile at a cave near the village where the Camilla adventurer party took a quest, inside this cave an unknown man wearing a jester outfit was standing in a drawn magic circle that was surrounded by candles.

This unknown man was chanting some spell, but the words he spoke cannot be understood by anyone. But as he speaks each word the eerie feeling surrounding the cave became stronger. This jester wearing man suddenly stopped in his chant and spoke, “One of my minions got captured, well this is not a loss. I can still continue the ritual to open the gate for the creatures of the dark lord to arise. ”

Suddenly multiple creatures that were the same as the creature that Karl and David caught appeared from the shadows, carrying three unconscious women.

“Very good my children, now put them to our storage.”

The creatures then crawled away from the man and brought the girls deeper into the cave. “Only three more girls and the opening will be complete, but the village is running out of virgin maiden's. How could I find other maiden's? Damn it maybe I should've chosen a bigger village. ”

As the unknown man spoke to himself another creature suddenly appeared, the man then looked at the creature and walked towards it. He then smelled the creature who was carrying another girl, “ Oh another girl then only two left, wait what's this smell? Virgins three of them, how lucky! I only needed two but what should I do with the one last virgin.”

“Hmm Maybe, I could turn her to my toy, that would be a great idea, huhu!”

Meanwhile back at Leora…

Destroyer here, today I have accepted an odd job meant for F class adventurer. To tell you this is the stupidest job I have ever accepted, how can an F-class adventurer be tasked to babysit ten children. I only accepted it due to the high reward promised in the quest.

Also, these kids are annoying as hell, one of them keeps banging my helmet with his wooden sword. Another one cries a lot when left alone by his twin brother. There is also this one who keeps rubbing his snot to my armor.

Damn it, I wish I could get my rank upgraded to D+ so I wouldn't accept any more weird requests like this. This is very humiliating to my name and image, as the adventurer who defeated a calamity class threat. Babysitting truly doesn't match my image, I even went to the market with these kids, and the adventurers I knew gave me a weird look.

Especially the female adventurers, I'll never be surprised if I got a new nickname, like Mr. Predator or Mr. Weirdo p*****t. Good thing David isn't here to move with these stupid jobs, even old man Razor would definitely join in David to mock me.
