Stephanie is at the reception when I walk out of Trevor's room. I'm trying so had to hold a straight face because I don't want her knowing it didn't go quite well with her father.
"Hey, you okay?"
She asks and I nod. I'm trying not to say anything.
I'm crumbling inside and I do not have much strength to hold myself together.
"Thank you for everything, I should go now." I just want to get out of here and get some fresh air, I feel suffocated.
"About the dinner with Sunshine?"
I had forgotten all about that and now that I've been asked to keep off them, I don't think that will be happening. But she doesn't have to know that. So I lie.
"I'll give you a call."
I hug her and walk out of the hospital. Since I don't have a phone to order an Uber, I'll just go with a normal taxi.
