CHAPTER NINE Remi rubbed her eyes with fatigue. She had been sitting in Grayson’s office for hours, going through every item in the catalog and then checking its location in the exhibition rooms. After a couple of hours of that not yielding any results, she switched to a new tactic—she started checking another ledger that listed the items not on display. Like with museums, large private collections generally had a lot more in storage than they did on exhibition. Everyone wanted to show off their best pieces, and Grayson was no exception, even though he had filled his house with rare items.
