Chapter Fourteen

2601 Words
Two days passed and Easton hadn’t been in contact with her. Rose suspected it was partly due to her hasty departure on the day his father died but Aine reassured her that he just needed a little time to grieve. Rose felt like a love-sick teenager; all they had done was a kiss, but he had not been far from her thoughts since that fateful day. She’d never felt this way before - even about her ex-husband when they first met. She wondered if Easton would have thought as fondly on their date as what she had, considering how the day had ended up. Rose felt so selfish hoping that the death of his father wouldn’t have ruined her chances of getting to kiss him again. Rose used the time to read books and look through old family photographs with her mother. Some pictures of her brothers, some more pictures of her grandparents looking older than the ones on the mantelpiece. Aine gasped when she found some pictures of Gabriel. She proudly placed one in a gold frame on the Welsh dresser. “For too long I’ve tried to pretend it was all a bad dream. I think now is the time to let the past go” Aine said, straightening the frame up in amongst the other ornaments. “You should start dating again!” Rose cheekily suggested. Aine laughed and pulled a face. Rose wondered if that was a possibility, could anyone mend the heart of a woman who had the love of her life snatched so cruelly from her? Despite the lovely time she’d had with her mother, in the times they weren’t bonding over pictures or having a giggle over the dating column in the papers, the hours had dragged for Rose. Mostly, she had watched the time and the front door just in case Easton or a letter arrived from him turned up. Anything that confirmed that he wasn’t upset with her about leaving him that day, Rose knew that she should try to go around to the palace herself, but the idea terrified her. After reading one of the thick books from the bookshelf, she had asked Aine to teach her how to teleport from one place to another which Rose had struggled with from reading about it. With actual instruction, she had grasped the basics quite well. Rose had finished the second big book and had started to read another “defence for the defenceless”. It was mid-afternoon and she was laid on her bed, propped up by numerous fluffy pillows. Practising waving her wand about as the book instructions said. Suddenly, a force field appeared in front of her, a gigantic, blue, transparent wall. She was elated, this was her first conjuring without her mother or Easton’s help. Quickly refreshing her memory with how to stop the force field, she proudly made it disappear again. She rolled on to her front and side with happiness, it was nice to have achieved something without help. A knock against the window interrupted her proud moment. It was her mother rapping her finger knuckle on the window quickly. Rose stood up and went over to the windowpane. Aine was stood in her gardening clothes and her gloved hand was pointing to someone outside. It was from Easton! He was talking to a man in a canary yellow pair of trousers. Aine made a shoo gesture which Rose took to mean go outside and meet him. Her heart skipped a beat, swiftly making sure she looked okay in the mirror and smoothing down her outfit. She tried to compose herself as she walked to the door. Changing her mind on her outfit last minute she magicked herself a new red dress on with thick black tights and some black boots. Feeling more confident – it certainly looked better than the loose outfit she had been wearing beforehand. Rose opened the door, Easton was stood in front of her and greeted her with a fervent kiss, it was obvious by his kiss to Rose how much he had missed her. He was coming over to see me she thought. A random paparazzo who must have been following Easton snapped a picture of the pair embracing, the shutter sound kept going until Rose pulled Easton inside the house and shut the front door. Easton laughed as he peered through the door window “No doubt that’ll be smeared all over tonight’s front page! I remember when Lux came out as a lesbian and the papers went wild! It is such a non-news story” Easton said rolling his eyes, “I saw your mother outside in the garden, she’s going to the market”. “How have you been? Sorry, I left so suddenly the other day. I was so upset, and it reminded me all of my dad dying” Rose confessed, deciding that the best thing to do was tell him how she felt. Easton looked at her and put his hand under her chin to raise it up so he could look into her eyes, “I didn’t mind, honestly, I was upset. You could have rolled me down a hill and I wouldn’t have noticed” he said, kissing her softly on the forehead. He pulled her in for a cuddle and they stood in front of the door cuddling, Rose breathed in his sandalwood scent. She wanted to show him how much she’d missed him, so Rose held his hand and lead him to the bedroom. Drawing the curtains and closing the door behind them, she lit some candles by magic to make the room look more romantic. The candlelight flickered and illuminated all of Easton’s handsome features. “I came over to hang out but I’m not going to complain if I get to f**k you,” Easton said with a laugh, Rose made him stop chuckling by kissing him square on the lips. It was the middle of the day but here in her bedroom, it was the perfect lighting for passion. Easton lay on the bed looking up at Rose, “Can I show you some skills I’ve learnt?” Rose asked him. Easton was surprised but happy that she wanted to showcase her new magical skills, “ah, go on then” he replied, wondering what it was that couldn’t wait to till afterwards. Rose stood proudly at the end of the bed, waving her wand, she changed her outfit from its red ensemble to a black set of lingerie with suspenders too. The underwear was lacy and transparent in places so when Easton saw her in it, he couldn’t help but grin, “You jammy thing, I actually thought you were going to show me something serious!” he said before he clapped with approval as she turned around to show it off fully. Easton grabbed her arm and tried to pull her on the bed next to him, but she resisted. “ahh, cheeky! That’s not all I wanted to show you!” she said with a giggle. Next, Rose waved her wand above her head and within seconds she was lying in the bed next to Easton who was rather impressed. “Flawless now f**k me!” Easton exclaimed, kissing her tenderly on the lips, their tongues slid across each other, the smell of his cologne filled her nose – he smelt like sandalwood and soap. Rose ran her fingers through his gorgeously soft, brunette hair as they kissed, his kisses stopped and then he began to kiss her neck. He moved positions so he was on all fours above her and she was lying underneath him. Easton’s kisses moved slowly down her decolletage to her breasts, which he freed from the cups of her bra. Rose’s n*****s hardened under his touch, he tweaked her n*****s under his fingertips, her body responded with a soft moan. Wanting to see how hard he was she placed a hand on his crotch, her touch found him solid and she rubbed the fabric of his shorts gently. Meanwhile, Easton’s hands explored her, his fingers slid into her lacy black knickers, parted her outer labia and skimmed over her c******s before dipping in and out of her v****a. Letting out a deeper moan as Easton moved his fingers in rhythm against her g spot, she tilted her head in delight back into the pillow beneath her head. After a minute, he removed his fingers, she was wet enough for his liking and inserted his rock-hard c**k into her. They both moaned in tandem, they carried on until they both climaxed. Easton flopped back on to the bed, spent. Rose was careful to lie on his wing as she caressed his pectoral muscles as his breathing slowed back to normal, she placed her head on his chest and they lay together until Aine’s key turned in the front door. Scrambling to look less post-coital, they got dressed and with a wave of their wands, they perfected their hair. Rose was pleased that she was becoming more adept at her magic skills and Easton smiled at her as she made her wand act like a brush for fine-tuning her hair. “You’ll be more advanced than me soon!” Easton said with a smile. Aine started to call out from the living room, “Rose? Rose? I’ve brought home some groceries could you help me unpack them please?”. Rose appeared from her room with Easton trailing behind her, feeling like a teenager caught in the act, she blushed a deep crimson. Easton was stood behind her trying not to look sheepish. “Hello, Aine. Did you have a good time at the market?” Easton said, trying to get a conversation going. Aine looked at Easton with a knowing look before looking at her daughter “It was ok thanks, I thought you’d be here when I got back. Luckily, I got enough food for guests!” she said placing the bags on the countertop and got out some plates. Rose helped unpack the bags her mother had brought home, leaving out a loaf of bread and some sandwich foods, she put out some utensils and they sat around the kitchen table. “Just to warn you, Easton. Your security detail outside told me to tell you. There’s been a sighting of enemy birds about twenty or so minutes ago. The army did shoot some of the riders down and the rest retreated.” Aine told Easton whilst she was buttering a slice of bread. Easton sat bolt upright in the chair he’d just sat down on, “You’ll have to excuse me Aine, I best return to the palace!” Rose looked at him, concerned, “Rose, I’d like you to come with me. I want to show you the plans” Easton said. “Plans?” Rose enquired. “Yes, the plan of action my security team will be putting into place for the funeral and then my coronation in these troubled times. I want to make sure you’re protected at both events. I also want to implement some safety features for yourself and your mother for your day to day life. I’ll detail some security to you at the palace today, those bird sightings Aine have confirmed to me that it needs to be sorted sooner rather than later. I don’t want you unprotected for longer than you have to be” Easton told them. “Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Easton” Aine replied before she took a bite of her sandwich. “It is okay Aine, I’m pleased the message was passed over, better than having to be interrupted by Wilson” Easton responded. Rose and Easton said their goodbyes to Aine and went outside. Easton’s security detail, his bodyguard Wilson followed behind the pair. Wilson was a bulky, tall, shaven-haired man dressed in black with a bow and quiver of arrows attached to his back – he didn’t seem to speak much except to pass on the information and he walked slightly behind the pair as they went to the palace. Once they arrived, they had the front doors to the palace opened to Lux was walking around the foyer merry on alcohol, clutching a near-empty clear crystal carafe of alcohol. Meredith was following her around trying to convince Lux to go back upstairs to the drawing room. “If you want to drink Princess, I think the drawing room would be best. Remember, it is got the fully stocked mini bar” Meredith said, “I have got some business to attend to your highness, we are expecting the undertakers soon to talk about your father’s funeral. I think it is best if you aren’t here for it” Easton swooped over, “It is alright Meredith, we’ll take her!” Easton told Meredith, placing his sister’s arm around his neck. Rose supported her from the other side, taking the crystal carafe from Lux and the two of them walked Lux up the stairs to the drawing room. In the drawing room, Lux was starting to drunkenly rant, talking loudly about her father’s death, his funeral and how everyone she loves leaves her. Sitting down in a cream leather bucket chair, Rose looked around the drawing room, it was as ornate as the rest of the house, gold gilt features and oak wood lined the walls. The bar took up one side of the room with several crystal decanters on it and it had shelves behind it, despite what Meredith said, this wasn’t a mini bar thought Rose this bar had a bigger selection of alcohol than the average sized pub bar. Lux ducked under the hatch to the bar and started to examine the labels on the bottles on the shelves. Deciding on one, Lux picked up a crystal carafe from the bar, taking the cork out, the carafe made a loud pop noise and she poured herself a glass. “Come over Rose have some. This stuff here is for special occasions only” Lux said slurring her words and holding onto the bar for support. “Alright then,” Rose said, as sat down on the other side of the bar on a stool. Lux unsteadily handed her a glass, it nearly slopped over the edge a few times as she passed it over to Rose’s hand. When Rose received the glass, she admired the green shimmer of the alcohol in the glass. It was like small green glitter floating around in the liquid, her eyebrows furrowed as she thought for a second before she had an epiphany, “STOP!” Rose yelled. She remembered a paragraph from one of her books, seeing that Lux had raised the glass to her lips. Rose leant across the bar and batted the glass out of Lux’s hand, and it smashed against the wall. Shards of glass flew everywhere whilst the wall bubbled and burnt under the liquid.
