Chapter 5
Evan wasn't sure what he should do. He felt the pressure of the evil spirit who wanted to murder him and his family, but he also had to protect Gabe. The poor kid had no one in his life to watch over him. He needed protection and it was up to Evan to provide that.
Gunnar followed Evan home, both men speeding through the streets, eager to feel safe again in their temporary housing. It crossed Evan's mind that Aidan might have the keys to their home, but he couldn't allow himself to be that paranoid.
“I don't know what to do,” Gunnar said, once they parked their vehicles and got out, standing on the well-trimmed lawn. “I need you to explain what's going on.”
“I'm sore and I feel like s**t,” Evan said. They walked into the house and Evan felt ready to collapse.
