Chapter 18: The Fallen Oak June 24, 20— 5:26 P.M. “When is the wedding?” David asked, enjoying a few hours away from Cupcakes with his best friend at the Fallen Oak, a small diner on Lakeside Road that cooked the best homemade meals and provided a friendly staff. “There is no wedding,” Jarr said, snickering. He was happy to see David and have this time alone with the man. They often worked together at Cupcakes but didn’t have time for a single moment to chat. Things were always hectic at the bakery with clients, chores, and prep work. Rarely did they stand around and do nothing. “There will be soon. It’s obvious that you’re head over heels for Ryan.” The two men sat in a corner booth within the diner, finished with their meals. David had a Rueben with a garden salad and Jarr enjoyed
