Ezmeralda POV:
I blinked a few times after being blinded by the light, and tried to take in my surroundings. There was nothing but darkness. I looked in every direction, but found nothing, and my stomach dropped. Where the hell am I? I wrapped my arms around myself and, for whatever reason, started walking. I have no idea where I am going or what I am supposed to do. I heard something shift and I froze.
The shifting scared me. My heart began to beat out of my chest. I felt my shield wrap around me, because of my anxiety, and when it did I realized I could see a little bit. Being able to see a little more because of my shield gave me an idea. I pushed it out a little further and noticed the 'floor' I was walking on seemed to be a solid form of the darkness all around me.
