Chapter 2: Little red fox

Alec’s pov

“You Lycans are nothing but monsters, you think we will ever stop?” the werewolf rouge asked me.

I didn’t say anything, but it really made me wonder. Werewolves consider rouges monsters and call them dirty and crazy but now that same rouge is calling us monsters.

“Look at you, you really are a freak. Why are you hiding your eyes? I heard they are red and look like that of a monster.” he said. I could see everything even though I was wearing a mask, that is one of my many abilities that make my life a leaving hell at times.

“Did you come alone?” I asked him and he just shrugged and then gave us a smirk.

“What if I didn’t?” he asked me.

“You are really annoying and to think that we were going to have mercy on you If you had admitted that this was just a mistake, and you didn’t know you were entering our territory.” James said.

The rouge scoffed, he doesn’t even realise that the reason he is alive is that Emily and James enjoyed killing them once they have spilled all the beans. They love the especially cocky ones who say that they are not afraid of death and who show no remorse. Emily likes breaking their spirit and watching as they slowly start to beg for a faster death.

“Can we torture this thing already?” Emily asked looking at me and I nodded before walking away. I didn’t even reach the door and he started screaming and along with it, I heard Emily laugh. He really shouldn’t have been so cocky.

I walked back to the mansion to get some work done. I really can't believe the number of werewolves we have to kill every single week, but they keep coming back to our territory. Some of them call themselves saviors and others think that they are heroes and killing us would be doing the world a favour. They talk about how getting rid of Lycans would be a favour to the world. Well, others just come here with even more sinister intentions in mind, they want to r**e Lycan females for their own sick pleasure.

I walked into the mansion and found my sister -in-law going to her room, she stopped when she saw me and frowned.

“I really wasn’t hoping to see your face today.” she said, and I just walked by her and didn’t say anything. Some people really don’t need attention, I think that certain people are like leeches. Leeches feed on blood but they feed on all the attention they get from other people which is something not even worth paying attention to.

After a few hours, Emily and James came knocking in my office, Emily is my gamma and James is my beta.

“You were right, there has been an attack on the werewolves.” James said as they both sat down. The Demons have become a problem lately, I know their intentions and I knew they would try to go to the werewolves.

“The spy who was there, he saw the Alpha Prince, he was bitten by the werewolves.” Emily added. “it’s a good thing if you ask me, I hate how that coward is always praised by his stupid minions. Alpha Prince Conan this, even the terrible ones say his name with pride.” she said.

“Do you think they will come and ask for your blood? I am sure by now it is very well known that your blood is the only cure after you healed the Vampire King.” James said, and I shrugged.

“That isn’t my concern, werewolves are nothing compared to us, and they know it. It's these demons that bother me.” I said to them. I saw how both their faces turned serious, yes the werewolves are our enemies and have been for years. This hatred and violence between Lycans and werewolves have been there for centuries and will continue to be there for even more time to come. But now these Demons are threatening our existence, my blood can cure people but there is little I can do because I am one person. I know that they would rather let their precious Prince die than come to us for help.

“You do know that they are going to make us the bad people again? his blood could have cured him, but he didn’t even try and all those judgy comments drive me nuts.” Emily said with frown and James chuckled.

“Everything drives you nuts.” he said to her, and she frowned when suddenly Emily got a phone call. We hardly use the mind link unless it is for emergencies, our Lycans turns to be vicious. When we overuse the mind link we turned to lose control and our Lycan side would take over and bad things happen hence we avoid it.

When I heard what he said I couldn’t believe it myself, I could tell that Emily and James had the same reaction over this. Emily looked at me waiting for a response and I just nodded.

“Let her come in.” she said and looked at me with a smirk.

“A she-wolf, who did they send? I really want to see the girl who has the audacity to even come here.” Emily said.

“Okay come on, let's stand beside Alec so that when she comes in we look cool.” James said making both of us look at him confused.

“What? We do need a cool pose though, so we can look intimidating.” he said with a shrug. How on earth is someone like him my beta?

“We are intimidating you i***t; we are three of the most powerful people in this world. We don’t need a cool pose.” Emily said.

“But it’s not a bad idea.” I said, and Emily’s jaw almost dropped to the ground at what I said. I don’t know why I even said that, maybe I am in a good mood, and I really want this girl to shiver in fear. The fact that she had the audacity to even come here to ask me for the cure shows that she deserves this. I will make sure that she won’t be able to say a word at all, how can someone be so shameless? They treat us like monsters but now she dares to come here for my help.

Emily and James both came and stood on each side, “I can't believe we are doing this.” Emily said.

The doors opened at we all looked at the door, at first I noticed how her head was held high but when her eyes landed on us she shrunk a few inches. I could hear her knees shaking, her heartbeat became even more rapid, and I could see the small beads of sweat on her forehead.

“She is scared shitless; I can’t believe it worked.” Emily said and then she started walking towards the little fox. She shrunk and seemed harmless, almost like a fox when it realises that it was in trouble. A little red fox.

“A redhead, huh, I guess they are right when they say that you are fearless.” she said and stopped in front of the little red fox.

“How disappointing, I thought it would be someone more scary and powerful. But you are so weak I can kill you with just a flick of my finger.” James said with a frown. I saw as her green eyes went wide with his words; her heart started beating even faster.

“talk red.” Emily said to her, she just opened her mouth and closed it again like a fish which made Emily laugh.

“You are here to ask about a cure so you can help your darling Prince, just in case you forgot.” Emily said with a tone of sarcasm. I watched as the fear left her and got replaced with determination, as she walked towards me her steps got stronger and more confident with each step she took. She stopped and looked at me, at first she seemed confused because this is the moment you look someone directly in the eyes. My eyes are covered so she couldn’t do that.

“I need your blood, just a few drops of your blood and I will be out of your hair. Please.” she said.

“No.” I said, and she looked at me surprised that I said no.

“Please, I can't lose him. You see Conan is my mate, he is the love of my life. I have been with that man for as long as I can remember, I don’t think I can love anyone ever again. Please, I am nothing without him, if he dies I am going to die too so please.” she said and went down on her knees.

“No.” I said again and this time firmly and she looked at me as if she couldn’t believe what she heard.

“Listen, girl, your sob story could work somewhere else but not here. He said no and he really doesn’t like repeating himself.” Emily said to her.

“Please, I am willing to do anything. I will do anything you tell me to do, so please help me.” she said.

“What could I possibly want from a scared little red fox like you? Do you really think you have anything to offer me?” I asked her.
