After threatening to violently kill her, confident and strong Hailey finds herself falling for the gangster that threatened her life.

" Do you think just because you’re a billionaire w***e that will stop me from putting a bullet into your f*****g brain?!” He says frighteningly, and I calmly swallow, fighting the shaking of my nerves and steadying my shallow breathing. I will not die cowering, I chanted to myself trying to find my courage. There's a moment when it's just the two of us staring at each other and for a moment something in his eyes change. I gather my courage and lean into him close to his ear and he looks confused, taken a back.

“No, but I like a challenge” I tell him sternly.

I push myself against him, my chest brushing against his and I can feel my n*****s harden under the white blouse that I am wearing. I expected him to lash out at me but his lack of response has me even more on edge, making me nervous, something I wasn't very often. His hand drops from caging me with the brush of my shoulder and I couldn't help but think he is the perfect height. If I just reached up on my toes I could kiss him. Then again, he's a stranger threatening to kill me.

“ And I’m certainly no w***e, I'm a virgin. I've never been fucked.”, I tell him, seductively close to his ear and hear him draw in a breath as I walk past him leaving him there staring after me stunned.

First Impressions
“ Did they at least get my good side?” I ask tonelessly. He throws down the paper and looks at me impressed, under his glasses. “ Did she have a choice?” he asks me and I smirk at him knowing she didn’t. It was a cloudy morning in the city. The rays of the sun struggling to stretch it's length over the buildings due to the gray clouds forming. After she’d written that scandalous article about me last month alluding not only to my love life but also dragging my family’s name through the mud, this was her apology. A two page article on the newly purchased building in the downtown area that will house and help illegal immigrants to not only get on their feet but to get their stay. It was beautifully written with her apologizing numerous times throughout and also detailing that the previous article written was not only in poor taste but untrue. That as a writer aspiring to have a worthy name it was her duty to take this blame for trying to mar the reputation of such an incredible woman. And incredible I am. I had made sure to tell Henry the chief editor to fire her of course with a generous donation towards their internship programme. I don’t care what people speculate about me. There is no stopping that. There is nothing to be done about what people say about you. That’s their problem but to drag my poor mother and father into this is another story. She called me the morning sniffling on the phone about all the false allegations that b***h wrote about her. She had her shot to make front page news and she milked it. I look at the splendid front cover and slide out of my seat. Money does make the world go round. “ Charles, let’s go visit the building and really take a look at what I purchased. We need to start putting things in motion.” I instructed the greying old man across from me that has been with us for years. Charles is the director of Hyram enterprise and almost like a second father. “ We should probably take extra guards or you will have to dress down Hailey. This isn't exactly upper side.”, he warns and looks over my fitted dark green leather skirt and crisp white top. I was also wearing simple diamond earrings with a matching bracelet and necklace and my six inch high Yves Saint Laurent heels. “ No, they will adjust” I tell him, grabbing my matching dark green Hermes bag and striding through the door. Hailey Hyram doesn’t change for anyone or anything. Just to go look at a damn abandoned house. The world changes for me. I slide into the back of the Tesla as one guard holds the door open. Charles slides in next to me sighing in clear disapproval and I put on my expensive diamond studded shades. “ You definitely do know how to make an entrance” he declares shaking his head in wonder as the car starts to pull off. “ Charles darling, that’s all people will remember you by.” I reply in my best Old Hollywood accent and he laughs. There is no changing my mind. Easing back into the plush seat I barely glance under my shade as we exited the gates. We cruise the New York streets and the traffic is of course hell. I believe we are all killing our lungs being cramped up in this small bubble of endless cars and whatever machines. Of course, you forget all about that once you are so immersed in its beauty. The flashing lights, the people and even the smell. People line the streets hustling to work with coffees in hand, college students jumping through traffic to get to their classes or their jobs and of course the endless dog walkers. I have a lunch date with Caroline at eleven and she should be there on time per my warning. My ballet and art loving sister is terrible when it comes to time. However, this was her idea to get me out a bit and I know she has been dying to tell me all about her new cat. I also know she wants to try some new Asian health centered restaurant and to be honest I tuned out when she started blabbering about it. Caroline barely has much friends so I'm her tag along and I'm more than happy to accompany her. I would do anything for my baby sister. She is what most people would call weird and others more politely would say different. I call her heaven's reminder that there are angels among us and I love her more than anything. My baby sister is rare indeed. Annoying at times but rare. I am so lost in thought that I didn't even realize the car has zipped through the upper New York through the rougher section and we are now right in front of the old but beautiful building. It is located in the upper middle class neighborhood and it takes up almost a block. I step out, lowering my shades and even from the front I can tell it's a beauty and was once something to really stop and look at. I breathe in the warm air looking up at it. A giant towering over us, I suck on my lower lip in concentration. " It looks good especially for it's age." Charles says, smiling in approval and I strut forward leaving the driver and the guard with the car while another two who were travelling behind us pull up out of the matte black car and quickly run to flank us on the side. We are definitely the center of attention and we get a few peepers from across the street including an old couple that was watering their garden out front stoping when the wife points at me. Yes, I'm the rich b***h that bought the place. The families that line the street and this small area are mostly family homes passed from one generation to the next. The street is surprisingly quiet except for the occasional passing of cars. It was the reward of living next to old folks and family homes. I casually glance behind me and notice one of the guards is staring at my ass and I roll my eyes at the uncomfortableness. I will definitely have to get rid of him. He has one job and the moron cannot even do it right. Charles pulls out a large golden key intricately designed with what almost looks like a floral handle and opens the large doors and I'm greeted with a stuffy room coated in dust. " You go on in. I'll wait here. I've already looked around and I can't risk an asthma attack again." he scrunches his face and I smile. Charles has terrible asthma along with serious heart problems that he makes sure to keep in check at all costs. I give him a sympathetic look and nod quickly entering. The dust alone made me think that maybe I should have came after lunch that way I could wash off all the dirt I collected after being in here. Now I would have to sit through lunch with it on me. I walk through the wide expansive entrance with a grand gleaming chandelier up above. I take a quick walk through the rooms and pause in the living room. The home was beautifully old and modern at the same time. It was a perfect and classic blend of both worlds. They didn't touch any of it's antique beauty more than what was necessary like the appliances and so forth. Whoever owned the place definitely did not lie when they said it still had everything. My finger runs over the corner of the grand piano where the plastic had lifted off and there is a thick layer of dust coating it. I am almost reconsidering finding another place and converting this place back to its former glory to just live here. There is something homey and beautiful about the place. It's the place you see yourself happy with the sunlight streaming through the windows, your kids playing with laughter and the smell of food and ginger filling up the house. That's when I hear it. Loud cursing and a scuffle and a jolt shoots through me. The door flies open slamming into the wall with such force I hear a crack and he comes barreling through the entry way with a gun in his hand. My mind is frozen on the gun in his hand trying to process it all. His eyes are blazing fury and his target is without a doubt me. He is very tall with a muscular build and his hair is blonde down to his neck with the faint outline of a beard and mustache. His furious blue eyes meet mine and I cannot move. A deep shiver induced panic run through me. God help me. I feel rooted to the spot and I know this is my body panicking. My flight or fight mode finally kicks in and I obviously cannot fight this menacing man before me. So I run. I run as fast as I can in heels. I run like hell through the connecting door into what looks like a study room? I curse myself when I try to close the door and I realize there are no exits and the only window I can see is boarded up more than likely against intruders. My hands are shaking nervously along with my body and my throat is unbelievably dry. Fear grapples me. I look around for something to even use in defense which is stupid because he has a gun. Why don't I have a gun? Because I'm a stupid ass that believes my guards can actually guard! I rush towards the lamp on the table to the side near the door and before I could grab it the door bursts open. He seems to take up the whole room and not just in size. It's his body language and presence. He somehow seems larger than life. You can see the bulge of his biceps through the dark grey suit he is wearing that sits on him incredibly. The more I look at him the more stunned I am. This man is extraordinarily handsome in a rugged way. His blonde hair is neatly clipped at shoulder length. He has high cheekbones and a jawline that would make any woman swoon. A faint scar traces beneath his jaw and fades out midway and this only adds to his appeal. He is clearly dangerous, very dangerous. His eyes move connects with mine and my heart rate speeds up. He points the gun at me and I can just imagine what I look like with all the blood drained from me. Is this how I will die? He keeps walking towards me as I shuffle backwards my heel almost getting stuck in the carpet as I back up carefully. Come on Hailey, I tell myself and something snaps in me. I can't dislike this. Please don't let him kill me. I am now back into full gear. If I am going to die then I will die with dignity and on my own accord, not like some whimpering b***h in fear. He lowers the gun and points it at me as he spits out his words. His blue eyes are lit so sinister that it would make any one run for the hills or pass out from fear. I try to pull myself together as he advances on me. “ You stuck up, trifling w***e of a b***h!” he shouts as my back roughly hits against the wall. He raises both hands on the side of my head cornering me in as his furious eyes take me in. His breath is so close I can feel it fanning my face. He smells amazing, a deep woody scent, his lips looking soft and perfect. You're going to die i***t, I try to remind myself.
