I tried to walk faster and smarter not wanting ,to keep the prince waiting.

Finally, i reached the podium.

"Congratulations on your award, we hope you'll make the kingdom proud".Rhonda was saying.

I kept my eyes glued to the ground as a sign of respect for the prince, but what happened next shocked me .

"Hello Lyla, i am up here" he said smiling widely at me.

Did he just speak to me?

Oooh my goddess, he did.

The prince has the most beautiful and captivating eyes...deep blue eyes.

I could get lost in them....i thought to myself, while shaking my head slightly to clear the stupid s****l fog ....No its just a sensual fog.

I breathed a sigh of relief, because for a second there i thought the prince was staring at me with intensity.

But then, it me Again..., say hellooo to the prince' s regular daydreamer.

"Congratulations Lyla" He said in the sweetest voice ever...

Oh. My. Goddess...is that a dimple? i screamed in my head.

I stretched my hand to shake his outstretched one, i nod and give him a small wary smile, then gingerly went back to my seat.

The rest of the ceremony passed in a blur, my heart was beating wildly in my chest.

I am very sure the other girls were still pinning away and staring at the prince,i still was..... but in a subtle manner.

He is sooooo yummy, even though i didn't get an idea of what his body might look like, combat uniform and all.. I sighed dreamily.

Declan ...POV

Mars and Zeus have been hyper-active all day because they know they will meet their mate today.

I have expectedly failed at trying to calm them down, so i just closed our link in my mind, after reminding them of our commitment to the goddesses in the dreamscape..

But ofcourse they just shrug and huff, then glare at me, like its my fault we can't claim our mate right away...

The balls of these beasts sometimes....

I chuckle in my mind, as i drag Natalie along with me.

The second we entered the hall for the award ceremony, the sweet smell of coffee, caramel and vanilla hits me really hard, as my Lycan and Wolf both shouted Maaaaaatttteee !!!! in unison.

I stiffened but continued walking, then we took our seats.

The ceremony started and i begin to scan the visiting students for my mate.

I notice the teenage girls checking me out, but they wouldn't make eye contact for more than a second,to show their reverence to me.

I just want to see my mate, i can sense a human amongst the visiting party. I was finally called to hand out the award certificates, i walked to the podium smiling widely, it was time...

The students were called individually as they came up to get their awards, the sixth name was called and goosebumps broke out on the back of my neck.

I saw a very beautiful dark haired girl stand up and begin to approach me, she was avoiding my eyes , my wolf and Lycan were absolutely sure she was the one, and had gone bonkers in my mind. But i needed to look into her eyes and feel the tug on my heart, to touch her and feel the sparks as they race through my hands and spread to my body.

Don't get carried away, I warned myself sternly in my head, and blinked several times to reel in my excitement, now i see why, we become silly, whinny little pups for our mates.

she took her time coming to me, she made her way slowly, majestically and finally she was in front of me.

"Hello Lyla, i am up here," i said to her, as an uncontrollable, crazy deep smile broke out on my face.

Finally, she looked up and my breath hitched. By the goddesses she is beautiful, with ocean blue eyes. Her heart shaped lips, made my wolf and Lycan start a fight for who comes out first.

A small frown formed on my face as i battled to enforce my usually iron clad self discipline and control.

"Let her know she belongs to us nooow!!!"

Zues shouted breaking through the mind block i had put up.

I cleared my throat as quietly as i could, while memorising the name on her visitors tag... Lyla Caddel.....

I offered my hand, for a congratulatory handshake and sparks spread like wildfire through my hands to my arms and zinged through my body, the second her hands touched mine.

I sighed deeply, trying to clamp down on my excitement, watching as she slowly made her way back to her seat .

From then on my mood could not be changed, i was chirpy for the rest of the day.

Lyla's .... POV

I rushed home after school, because i needed to start dinner early, Rose has found her mate and the alpha was invited for dinner today.

My movement is really slow, so i need double the time required for meal preps and cooking, and i dare not disappoint.

Don't be deceived i dislike cooking, because i have been forced to learn what was needed to be learnt to cook perfect meals. But for today aunt Helen's favorite outsourced chef will be in charge, and i will be the assigned help and server.

Rose and i aren't friends or anything she barely speaks to me, uncle Fred's daughters barely have the time to spare me a glance. To them, i don't exist and that means no hitting or flinging poor old me across the entire house.

On my way home, i picked up some things from the grocery store, and slowly made my way to the house.

I absentmindedly began to daydream about the prince again, replaying every moment with him today.

How soft is his hair?

is he a good kisser?

How good a kisser is he?

How often does his dimples make an appearance, when he smiles?

How often does he even smile? i huffed

Is he hilarious? or cool and aloof ?

Is he arrogant ?...

who am i kidding he must be, you don't get to wield such power without imbedded arrogance, that can make trees shrug in disbelief.

I blinked severally trying to clear my thoughts , and huffed ,i shouldn't be thinking such thoughts at all.

I entered the house through the back door, and headed to the kitchen, sure enough chef Anthony was already busy, so i dropped my purchases and made my way to my room, to change and get back down to do my duty. I saw an animated Aunt Helen with her daughters whispering,.....i am sure about mates, love, handsome and charismatic, possessive Alphas. I thought sighing dreamily.

I say hello and smile at an excited Rose, then excuse myself.

I had been busy cooking for hours now, and most of the dishes were finished, so I began setting the table when i heard Carson and Amelia come in..

Roars of laughter could be heard from the living room, as they waited for dinner to start.

Alpha Trevor Albertine, is a good looking and charming beast of a man.

I even smiled at something he said to Carson ,when i reached the safety of the kitchen.

Alpha Trevor was accompanied by his Beta James.

They were Hrybrids from a Hybrid pack as aunt Helen said repeatedly for my benefit.

i could never envy rose, i was glad for her, i knew she had become desperate to find her mate after two years waiting.

I started with the appetizers,creamy cucumber-avocado soup and butter squash Ravioli with Rosemary browned butter.

Next were the salads, i served Asian pear grapes,baby kale greens,candled walnuts and gorzonzola honey vinaigrette,there was also Wilted spinach salad with warm apple cider and bacon dressing.

Then i brought out a big bowl of white bean puree, a wide tray laden with balsamic lamb chops, After another trip to the kitchen i brought out a big bowl of roasted garlic mashed potatoes and another wide tray laden with grilled beef tenderloin on carbernet sauce.

I was sooo tired i was sleeping on my feet, but served desserts of Honey yogurt panna cotta with blood orange sauce, chocolate soufles and strawberry and vanilla gelato.

after clearing and tidying up the kitchen i finally went to bed at 2am, for two hours and thirty minutes of sleep.

I was definitely doomed tomorrow at school.
