Chapter 14

Lyla's....POV

We arrived at the palace residences just over 10pm, i stared at the architectural beauty, for some moments before i realise the prince is waiting at the top of the stairs leading into the palace.

I sigh, finally getting out of the car and walk towards him, everyone bows a little, while tilting their heads slightly to the side in respect...while i just stood there fuming,i was sooo angry, i was close to tears.

"I know you're angry, i am sorry i marked you without your consent,but i need you to trust me." He said in a rush and i just went bonkers.

Oh My Goddess did he just give me the classic i know what i am doing, trust me talk?

i gave him a cold smile, and walked past him into the magnificent foyer of the palace..i was going to look around but i stopped dead in my tracks as i saw the king and queen standing some feet away. I quickly bowed my head in respect, while greeting. "Oh my darling, pls do not bother with those officous niceties...The queen said, welcome to your new family my dear, pls call me clarissa when we are alone," she said winking at me, but her expression changed as she turned to stare at her son "Declan Van Godin she stated while gritting her teeth and clenching her fists, i believe that respecting your mate was an integral part of your upbringing, but its clear you decided to deviate."

"M..moother i didnt,i just wasnt thinking properly." he stuttered out a reply..

i looked at the prince in shock, people feared and revered him, he is sooo intimidating...but his mother can scare him??? wow...i thought..

"Lyla come with me" the queen requested as she walked away , i quickly followed her.

"Mom please" He begged.

i didnt understand why he was pleading with the queen, but i was taken to a guest room somewhere in the palace.... i smiled and thanked her, then closed the door behind me.

And just as i threw my tired body on the bed, a knock sounded at the door.

"Come in," i said

Clara stepped in, "Lyla...she started sheepishly, you settled in fine?"

yes and i love my room, i whisper yelled, with a smile on my face. she chuckled "this is not your room" she said chuckling some more.

"But the queen....... i stopped, she had this knowing patient smile on her face.

"Clara? " i asked .

"Lyla, the queen can't stand oppression of any kind, and she is punishing the prince for marking you without your consent , by setting you up here. my mouth formed a suprised O.

I will get you all you need for the night, hopefullly tommorrow you'll be back in your room, i gave her a dazzling smile and fell asleep instantly.

Declan ....... POV

I stared at Lyla, she looked sexy wearing a fugure hugging jeans and a white round necked t-shirt, and black flats. Her ocean blue eyes were intense the blue orbs looked deeper and sharper, her heart shaped lips were pursed in an angry line.

And my heart skipped a beat as i took in her beauty. "mate is angry with us," Zeus said

"pls make it right" mars begged in our mind link.

"I know youre angry, i am sorry i marked you without your consent, but i need you to trust me." i said rushing my apology in one breath.

"Declan did you really do that?" my mother scolded me in our mind link, as

Lyla walked into the foyer angrily, while i followed in trepidation....my mum is most caring, kind and fun parent one can ever ask for, but i knew the way i marked my mate was something she would be unable to ignore.

Now i've made two of the three most important women in my life angry,and my sister isnt angry becuase she doesnt know yet.

my night got from bad to worse when mom mindlinked me again, informing me my mate will not be sleeping in my quarters tonight.

Fff*************************kkk, i screamed in my thoughts to no one in particular.. because sometimes the weight of responsibility is so heavy, your misteps will be too glaring to ignore.

I need my mate close, i will do anything to stay close to her. But mom has enchanted the door to her guest room , so i decided to get comfy by her door, with a nice chair, and was back to my room before 5am.

I sighed sadly, i need her desperately, but she needs ro trust me first or maybe not ...our bond is suposed to be extremely strong so will see how the next few days goes...

The next full moon is in nine days and her wolf, will surface then, her lycan will surface anyday now , as for her other powers they will surface when they want to.but i need to train her before then.physically she has a lot of catching up to do.

I was so caught up in my musings i didnt see my sister launching herself at me,so i hit the floor ass first,..."congrats on finally finding your mate, we can all use the break ftom the constant ear pounding we got from the royalcourt, trying to pressure you to take a chosen mate." Thanks Essa i said .

"sabout time , i hear Essa's mate, sebastien say with a smile.

Essa offers me a hand to pull me up but i pull her down for a little tickle session.

It amazes me how much she tickles.

"Haaahha ha ha ha ha d.d...declaaaannnnn, aaarrrrrrrrr plea....eeess, hav...ee mmeeerrcccyyy" she pleads.

"kids kids come on" my father says rolling his eyes as he comes in for breakfast, with mom chuckling at his side.

"Son, i am sorry about last night,but please dont take your mate for granted..." mom says ,while hugging me. Never mom, i promise.

We all settled down at the table when her scent hit me, honey caramel and vanilla..

a smile immediately broke out on my face. Nice one Clara, i commented her in mindlink. i heard her soft footsteps as she descended the stairs with clara behind her. i felt my heart tug again as she came into my veiw, she was wearing a knee lenght, fitted navy blue, A shaped shift dress with white baby collar.

I gulped as i stood at the bottom of the stairs and stared at her legs, zues was going wild and mars was feeding us an image of her legs wrapped around our waist, instantly making my body temprature skyrocket. i smiled at her as i blocked them and tried to control my body's need for her.

she stopped in front of me, staring into my eyes, i was nervous as i starred back getting lost in her blue orbs. she smiled and my heart almost stopped..

"I am sorry " i said again,hoping this time she will atleast consider my apology....

"Okay" she said as her smile grew wider.

Now that was an improvement from the furious silent treatment i got yesterday.

"Did you sleep well?" i asked in a low voice?

She hugged me and whispered no...

Her hug calmed me, and chased away my worries and some of my fear of her leaving and rejecting me.

"soorry, the headache?" i asked

"more like migraines and dreames or nightmares i really cant remember, she sighed and continued ....but being close to you takes most of the aches away.."

I nodded and led her to the table where everyone was observing us instead of starting on their breakfast. i introduced her to my sister and her mate.

Mid-way through breakfast, i found myself fighting the need to pull her onto my lap and feed her, she was picking on her food, the need to do that was so strong, my eyes were flickering between black and blue, Zues was fighting me for control ...i lightly shook my head...but my fathers voice in our mindlink doused it.

"son you need to calmdown or you'll scare her, she needs time to adjust."

Then i felt her hand on mine and she gave me a light squeeze. i took deep breaths,before telling her i would be introducing her to my circle after breakfast then we would do a tour of palace and take her to her room in my suite.

Anndd... kissing her and licking that sweet spot on her neck where my mark is , are definitely high priorities for me today... but we would take what we can get, i said to myself.
