C003 Pornsak

The host narrator from the SPI sashayed her way through my cramped office as I stood up and greeted her. My colleague was giving me the eye when he ushered the host through my office since the host was considered somewhat cute and young to be a host or a narrator for an established Supernatural Paranormal Investigators team. That was what the acronyms of SPI stand for.

"Sawadee khrạb ceanay phm chux phr sakdi" which literally meant "Hello Boss, my name is Pornsak" and I am the narrator for SPI that we would begin doing a documentary with the assistance and guidance of your photo and videography team. Have you ever done any coverage on this type of documentary before...?" The host narrator was very straight to the point the moment she entered the office and then began to question me regards my professionalism as an Editor in chief. This girl was really the hots for everything.

I extended my hand for a handshake and her hand felt smooth and silky as I invited her to take a seat first and make herself comfortable as she spoke softly. I scrutinised her closely and assumed that she must be around 21 years of age and maybe had just completed her tertiary education and had recently joined the broadcasting industry.

She looked simple with just a thin shade of pink on her lips, had no makeup on her but still looked stunning enough for her young and tender age. She had shoulder-length straight hair and was pulled back behind her ears. She wore a simple short sleeve white blouse over her denim jeans and wore flat platform shoes.

She had rather a lithe figure and maybe a half-head shorter than me. With a school girl kind of look, it would surely make heads turn and in the broadcasting industry, face-value sells better. I don't look too bad either in this body... Hahaha. For real...! I better head to the treadmill if I wished to look younger and healthier in this slightly rounded body. Hahaha...!

After her short introduction of herself, I answered her questions about my experiences with the type of work she engages. I explained to her that I have had first-hand experiences before but more on a personal basis and not those that would be recorded under photography or videography at all.

"Oh, I see. We are so alike, don't you think so?. I too had a Third Eye, and from what I see in you, you are quite trusting and dependable. I can see that you had many years of experience, even though you are just a few years older than me."

"You had suffered some difficult journeys in your present life since your past life is much more... How shall I put it... More colourful?" Pornsak nonchalantly relates to me the part that was kept close to me. I wondered if she was able to see through me that I had just transmigrated and also had taken over the body of Aroon Chevapratnadumrong or just Aroon for now. 

Oops... That's not the Third Eye, but something like a soothsayer kind of eye. The kind that would be able to see deep into one's eye and tells the past rather than the future. If she looks too deep into my eyes, I'm sure she is going to fall in love with me *ahem* ...find out about my past life as Sam Mulder and not the present Aroon Chevapratnadumrong.

I glanced away to avoid her piercing gaze and replied, "Ah... Yes, you can that say it is colourful while being able to go to places and talk to all levels of the community. As for my Third Eye, it's a different kind as I can see unsettled spirits roaming around during the feast of the Ghosts Festival et cetera."

"I believed that there is a festival called the Phi Ta Khon that takes places over three days over the months of March and July which would be determined by the mediums and priests, am I right?" I inquired since I am digging through the minds of the original Aroon Chevapratnadumrong and had found that this time, the memories that were etched inside it was filled with a lot of wonderful and colourful events.

"Yes, Boss. That's right. The whole event would be called Bun Luang and that's why I was assigned as a narrator and together, we both would be able to discover the truths behind some unsolved and gruesome mysteries that shroud our community for years."

"You should know what I mean by those things that go bump in the night. You are not afraid of such matters, are you? Besides, it would be a great experience for the both of us since I was able to sense a kind of ancient powers deep within you that was either had been prematurely released or would need an extra push to harness the powers." Somehow Pornsak was hinting to me about what I had bestowed back in the first series that had been unlocked within me and had not been practised so far for quite some time already.

It seemed that with the help of Pornsak, the readers would definitely agree that the series would definitely be more interesting once more since there's a female protagonist that would be around to aid the main character. This spoiler alert is brought to you by the Director's order. Hahaha...!

"I am more afraid of humans rather than a ghost. An entity is just an entity that can't rob your wallet, pierce a knife through you or push you against incoming traffic. At most, they just jump out in some corners of the walkway in order to scare you. I wondered why these ghosts would like to lurk around unsuspecting corners or maybe distort your spiritual being, especially those with depression and schizophrenia."

"Studies did show that a large number of patients with schizophrenia would associate roaming and unsettled spirits to be the main cause of the disturbances that they were suffering from. Other than that, maybe we can interview those entities if they are willing to do so. Hahaha...!" I took the matter at hand in a lighter note since no one would feel comfortable to talk about lost and roaming souls, especially in the land of a thousand smiles where it was considered as a taboo to talk about such matters in a very loose manner.

"Ah, you have read about the research notes that the SPI had done so far in the past. Normally, those Editors in chief would not even bother to open up our docket that would be filled with a lot of important information regards to our past and future projects. Furthermore, I believed that you doing so shows how deep our interest with us, as a team."

"The SPI team have quite a number of gadgets to record what the speech of those spirits that had been summoned since human ears can't hear them talking. There would be some infrared gadgets as well to capture the cold and warm differences in the air when they appear, plus a small electronic gadget to record spikes of Electro Magnetic Fields. Once either gadget sounded an alarm, it would notify us of such presence. Do you have the opportunity to play with such toys?"

"Yup, Pornsak, I have read through and understand the general field of work that the SPI is covering and also a little bit about you. Maybe after all this work has been completed, we could have dinner or supper  sometimes?" I made a blind proposal to her and in the meantime, tried to put both my charm and charisma into action. 

Who knows I might be able to score with this narrator even though we had been acquainted in under 30 minutes and had chatted like we had known each other since childhood. I guessed this was due to my chatty behaviour as well as my charm around women. *AHEM* So guys, I think I had given you a heads-up on what would be happening in the chapters ahead. Hahaha...!!! 

"Sure, sure. It's a definite YES from me. Dinner invitation has got no problems with me at all. I am from originally from ChiangRai and had come here on project assignment with the SPI. I had been with them for quite some time now and everyone gets along very well."

"I am now staying at a rented apartment together with the rest of the team members as well. They are quite a joyful bunch I must add. Have you met them yet?" Pornsak was beginning to loosen up as she mentioned about her origin. Furthermore, I think it would be great if she would be pulled away from the rental place that she shares together with the members of the SPI team.

"Nope, not yet. But I think it would be best to get acquainted with them soon before we embark on this piece of documentary. By the way, how many urban legends that are you going to cover for this documentary? Would it involve the police and other media and how long have these unsolved mysteries that you had highlighted to me earlier whose cases had gone cold?" 

I inquired since I knew that the police would normally close the case file and chuck it in some basement and never be resurfaced again unless the relatives would pay some money to unearth the evaluation and prognosis of those cases that had gone cold. Normally, such cases such as these that had gone cold, would be shut forever after 3 months if there was no improvements or addendum to the cases. In other words, not only these cases would have hit a speed bump, but it would come to a dead end as well.

"Some cases were fresh, Boss. There are cases that are dated a few weeks ago, while most cases were considered cold and had almost been forgotten that they had become an urban legend itself. It is worth discovering and uncovering their actual events. But discovering such cases would also open up a portal where other unsettled spirits would come in and join us as it would cause a form of disruption."

"We should not forget that we both have our Third Eye and mine is more refined and would be able to look back into the past as well as the ability to communicate with them through a simple seance. We don't even have to have the company of a Buddhist Monk among us to assist unless....." Pornsak stopped short during her mid-sentence.

"Unless what, Ms Pornsak...?" I was piqued in that conversation as she narrated non stop about her experiences.

Two bottles of green tea that were bought earlier by my office colleague was brought in and placed on the table. I placed one in front of her and invited her to drink. She took it and unscrewed the top and inserted the straw in and took a short sip of the cooling beverage and continued where she had left.

"The case is too heavy for me and I need their assistance as well... Like such cases of extremely violent death or those who had suffered an untimely death. This kind of spirits would be harder to handle and their spirits were either being rejected by mother Earth, hovers on top of the ground and wishes to avenge against those who had to send them to an early demise. That's the kind of cases that we might be expecting in the future, Boss."

"I understand now, let me have the list of cases that you wish to document from the earliest date to the latest one and mark out in stars ranging from 1 to 5 on the intensity and complexity of the cases that you will be documenting. I would expect full cooperation with you in these documentaries and hope to work out more than a working relationship with you."

"In fact, I believe when two persons with extraordinary abilities work together as a couple, the results that could achieve would reach a higher threshold, don't you think so?" I smiled broadly as my charisma meter was at its peak and was hoping that the charm would capture her heart *AHEM* somehow. Hahaha...!!!
