CHAPTER THREE Remi didn’t know how she managed to hide her emotions from her partner on the two-hour drive down to Richmond. Daniel was driving, and so she read from the file, the folder up to shield her face. While she had never met Professor Edward Hale, she had of course heard of him. He was one of the leading Old Testament scholars of his generation. She had even heard rumors of his trial for illegal antiquities smuggling, but that had been a few years ago, when she had been focused on building up a very different career than the one that she now found herself in, and she hadn’t paid much attention.
