Going On A Date

Now Harriet knew provoking Liam wasn't a good idea. She was lying on her stomach on the bed without a single thread covering her body when Liam covered her with a thick blanket. The man had finished putting his pants back on, walking towards the wide-open tower window. Harriet held back her sleep as she watched Liam's sturdy back turn to her. "Go to sleep, Madam. When you wake up, I will still be here with you," said the man. "You don't want to sleep with me, Milord?" asked Harriet softly. Liam leaned back against the window frame like when they first met and smiled at Harriet. The man nodded slowly. "Mm, I don't want to sleep yet," the man said quietly. At that moment, it felt like Harriet was blinking. When she woke up, Liam was still sitting in the same place and in the same position, but the sun was already rising on the eastern horizon. Harriet jolted awake and let out a small groan from the pain in her lower back. Harriet heard Liam chuckling. "Oh God… you hadn't slept…" she muttered. Liam stood up and stretched his body. The man walked over to Harriet and gently massaged her waist. "Madam, let's go on a date," said the man then. Harriet blinked in surprise. Before Harriet knew it, he was already familiarly groping her body. Harriet wanted to run away, but her body ached all over, and she felt so weak when she felt his gentle touch. "Come on, Madam. I'll help you bathe, and we can head to town for breakfast." Harriet couldn't even open her mouth yet when Liam lifted her body away. She gave up and hugged Liam's sturdy shoulder as a grip. "Aren't you sleepy? Not tired?" asked Harriet. "I'll tell you when I'm sleepy or tired," Liam replied. Liam carried Harriet downstairs, just below his top room. There was a large bathroom with windows on three sides, just like upstairs. Inside, he put Harriet down into a low wooden chair. Harriet could see that a hot tub had been prepared for their bath. Maybe Liam called the maids before Harriet woke up and instructed them to prepare the bath water. After checking the temperature of the water, Liam approached Harriet and gently washed her body. He rubbed each of Harriet's toes and massaged them gently. All he did without saying anything made Harriet fall into a daydream focused on his flat face. Harriet helped her husband wash his back, and it surprised Harriet to see how broad his back was. Even though she thought Liam was much slimmer than any Lycan she'd ever seen... There were many old, faded scars, barely visible anymore. However, the scar across Liam's chest looked like one that would never disap. Was it from the wound when Liam lost his heart? Liam kissed Harriet on the lips and smiled faintly. The two of them got into the big bathtub together. "What are you thinking, Milord?" asked Harriet. She noticed Liam's flat face reflected on the surface of the warm water. Harriet found it odd that her husband suddenly wasn't always teasing her. He would not stop after Harriet teased and provoked him yesterday, right? "I was thinking about the place for our breakfast… It's been almost 40 years since I couldn't get up under the sunlight, so I don't know if my regular breakfast place is still open or is no longer there," Liam said. Harriet smiled faintly. Ultimately, they were different beings, and the time they spent living was also different. "If it's closed already, let's have breakfast with your favorite breakfast menu, hm?" proposed Liam gently. Harriet shook her head. "I don't have a favorite breakfast menu. Whatever Milord chooses, I'll be happy to eat," said Harriet. "Do you have something you can't eat?" Liam asked. Harriet shook her head again. "Okay," Liam nodded in understanding. They soaked until the water began to cool down, and Liam lifted Harriet back into his room. As Harriet expected, Liam asked the maids to prepare their needs. Harriet put on her simple dress before Liam's gaze, who watched her wordlessly. Harriet did feel uncomfortable that she felt those golden eyes could strip her bare without even touching her, but she didn't want to overreact. "Madam, if I don't tease you, you won't be shy about doing anything before me, will you? Or, because last night, your courage has grown?" Liam asked in a mischievous voice. Harriet coughed, then cleared her throat. Somehow, she had expected Liam to tease her again. "Even when we bathe together, you don't look shy," Liam muttered. Harriet narrowed her eyes in annoyance. "I am the type of person who can quite control my composure. On the other hand, Milord has a very vulgar mouth," said Harriet flatly. Liam smiled. "I am the type of person that noble girls don't like, huh?" Harriet blinked. For some reason, she felt that there was a purpose in his Casanova attitude. But why would a gentleman like Young Lord Almandine deliberately act like that? "You knew that a guy like you is not the type liked by noble girls, but you still acted like that," said Harriet quietly. "Yes, but acting like this to my wife, what's wrong with that?" Liam hugged Harriet, who had just finished wearing her jacket from behind. Harriet grabbed her earmuffs, and Liam was already lifting her effortlessly. A startled Harriet quickly put her arm around Liam's shoulder as she realized Liam was stepping towards the open window. "Milord?" Harriet grabbed Liam's shoulder as her fears turned out to be true– "Oh no-" Liam jumped from the tower window as if flying high into the sky. At the same time, Harriet's soul suddenly left her body. She didn't even have time to scream and react when Liam landed softly and smoothly on the roof of a shop in the town center. Harriet's breath hitched, and her whole body tensed and limped simultaneously. "Y-y..." "Don't cry, Madam," Liam said, seeing Harriet's stiff face still looking blank. But, when she was asked not to cry, Harriet immediately wanted to cry. The cold wind of the northern spring ruffled Liam's long blonde hair. The man looked at Harriet with a hint of a sly, seductive smile. "What would you do if I fainted or had a heart attack?" asked Harriet flatly, shaking and angry. "Why is Madam afraid of high places?" Liam asked back, seriously. "Because I'm afraid of falling!" said Harriet quickly and sharply, almost screaming. Liam smiled. Harriet was so angry and irritated at him out of fear that she was so different when she was annoyed at him teasing her. "I'm sorry, Madam," Liam said sincerely. He could see Harriet's brows furrow at his apology. "But I'm glad Madam isn't afraid of high places because of a terrible experience and just because you're afraid of falling," Liam said. Harriet blinked at him. "Why do you say that?" Liam suddenly jumped down from the roof into a deserted alley. "You started sleeping with me in the tower, right?" Liam asked. Harriet nodded slowly. "I'm glad you didn't force yourself to fight your great fear," the man smirked slyly. "Heights is my greatest fear!" Harriet was getting more and more annoyed. Liam didn't look worried about Harriet's annoyance, but the man quietly led her gently and bought everything Harriet glanced at, even only for a blink of an eye. Because both had unique appearances that differed from those of the people of the Northern land, even though they wore commoners' clothes, they made people turn their heads as they passed. After buying small snacks and a few inexpensive accessories that caught Harriet's eye, they sat down at the table of a roadside breakfast shop serving hot soup and stew. Liam held Harriet's hand openly and continued to coax her. It was because he knew Harriet was still a little upset, even though she didn't seem angry anymore. But actually, Harriet was remembering what the man had done. She looked at the great castle in the distance from this roadside shop. The castle towered deep in the city's center, with the tallest tower resembling a long black line under the morning sun. Harriet still couldn't believe the man in front of her had jumped from the window of that faraway tower straight onto the roof of a city building. Everything happened so fast that Harriet couldn't even feel the soft landing. Were all Alpha Lycan capable of doing all that? Did that mean that even their intense activity last night wasn't the full action Liam could show her? Harriet felt little goosebumps down her spine as she narrowed her eyes. She, indeed, had married a monster. . . . __________________ From the author: I don't care. Monster or not, I'd marry Liam in a heartbeat. HAHAHAHAHA....
