I walked through the house where the party is being held, I greeted a few people along the way as I made my way over to the boys. “And he finally arrives.” Henry said shaking my hand. “Becky has been looking for you since we got here.”
“Maybe then it is a good time to leave.” I grumbled shaking Duan's hand. “And ruin a good party?” Duan asked amused.
I smiled at a few girls who were standing close to where we were standing. “You are such a tease, man.” Duan said chuckling. “I just gave them a smile, nothing to get charged up about.”
“That smile surely have wetted those bikini shorts.” Henry said with a smirk while looking at them.
“Casey.” I looked over my shoulder at the person who said my name. I cringed in the inside when I found Becky. Her long blond curls were tied up in a bun on top of her bed with a few strands hanging around her face. She was wearing a pink bikini with pride. Not that she had anything to worry about, Becky had a slender form. She was tall and well-built. Every man’s dream but sadly not mine.
“Becky.” I greeted.
“I wondered when you will be showing up.” She said ignoring the guys. “I was a little bit pre-occupied,” I told her blankly.
“I hope it is all sorted out.”
Duan and Henry cleared their throats and then excused themselves. “So, I haven’t seen you around lately.”
“Been busy practicing over the holiday.”
“Who workouts over the holiday?” She asked with an amused smile.
“I do.” I answered with a shrug. She won’t understand the love I have for basketball and what goes on at my house, the rivalry between my father and I.
“No wonder they voted you as captain.”
I just scratched the back of my neck. That technically is not the reason why the guys voted me as captain. It was about my consistency and leadership.
“And my calls you haven’t returned? You at least could have called back.” She said closing the distance between us. “Becky, listen…” I started but she caught me in the middle of my sentence as she pressed her lips against mine. I placed my hands on her shoulders pushing her away slightly.
“No, Becky.” Her forehead creased. “You don’t want this?” She asked surprised.
I shook my head putting some distance between us. She let out a frustrating sigh and then she gave me a fake smile. “Your loss.” Was all she said before walking off, carrying her shoulders high and undefeated. I looked to my side when I found Duan and Henry standing next to me, holding a beer out to me. “Thanks.” I thanked taking the beer from Henry’s outstretched hand.
“What was that all about?”
“We thought that you don’t like her.”
“I don't like her, she just came out and kiss me.” I told them taking a huge gulp from my beer. Duan and Henry just laughed at me and carried on partying with the girls.
I let out a groan when rolling onto my side. My cold chain rested against my warm chest as I pushed myself up. I dragged my hand through my hair, lazily as I let out a yawn. My body stiffened at a sudden female mumble from behind me. I looked over my shoulder, my eyes widening when they land on a sleeping Becky.
I let out a groan running my hands through my hair in frustration. How the f**k did this happen? I pushed the blanket aside and slipped on my pants when I found them lying on the floor next to the bed. I pushed myself up and walked over to my bedroom door, I opened it and stuck out my head listening if anyone was still home.
I sigh in relief when I found the house empty. I shut the door and walked back to the bed. I looked at Becky’s sleeping form, I screwed this up. I placed my hand on her shoulder, giving her a soft shake. “Becky wake up.” She opened her eyes lazily with the corners of her lips curving up into a smile when her eyes landed on me.
“Hey.” She greeted sleepily, stretching.
“You need to get dressed and going. School starts in an hour.” I told her. “We could always take a shower together.” She said with a sly smile, pushing herself onto her elbow and reaching out to cup my cheek but I caught her by her wrist. “Last night was a mistake, it doesn’t mean anything.” It sounded so mean but I didn’t plan for it to happen, especially with her.
“What are you saying?” She asked defensively.
“It doesn’t mean we are dating now after last night. Last night should not have happened.” I told her honestly. I then pushed myself up feeling like a scumbag. “I am just going to take a shower down the hall, you can use my bathroom.” I told her without looking at her as I rummaged through my wardrobe to get some clean clothes.
I locked the bathroom door and got underneath the shower. I pressed my forehead against the cold tiles letting the water cascade down my back. How fucken stupid can I be? I dragged my hand down my face letting a string of curses. Anyone else but Becky.
I got out of the shower, toweled down and got dressed. Becky was waiting for me downstairs, dressed. I got my bike keys from the key holder. I handed her a helmet as we got to my bike. I slipped on my helmet and got onto my bike with her following in pursuit. I felt her wrapping her arms around me tightly and resting her head on my back.
I sped through traffic just to get to school so I would be free from her. Duan and Henry both smiled at me in amusement when I got to school. “What the f**k happened last night?” I asked them when I finally reached them. “Apart from sleeping with Becky?” Henry asked while Duan just chuckled.
“How did I manage to get so fucken twisted to sleep with that?” I asked. “Well, you firstly you got so drunk that you couldn’t stand on your two feet and before we knew it, you left the party with her.”
“And you two couldn’t stop me? You know how I feel about that girl.” I told them feeling really upset with them and myself. “I did a pretty good job avoiding her at all cost and now I fucken slept with her. And I saw that look on her face.”
“What look?” Duan and Henry asked in unison.
“The look.” Both their eyes widen. “She thinks that we are a couple now and no matter how many times I told her that we are not a couple, she still thinks we are.”
“Don’t you think you are overreacting?” Henry asked.
“See you in class, Casey.” Becky purred walking past us while winking at me. I looked at them whose jaws were halfway scratching the floor. “You still think I am overreacting?” I asked with a quirked eyebrow.
“f**k, you’re so screwed.”
I walked over to my locker with the boys following me. I got to my locker, taking out my workbooks. “Think about this, you only have a year left with that pooch.” Duan said walking beside me as we started to make our way down the hallway towards the classroom.
We neared the corner, Duan walked off into the direction of his first class while Henry and I had our first class together. I wanted to open my mouth to ask Henry a question when I stumbled into someone, I was quite surprised when I didn’t find the person knocked over as I was quite tall and well-built.
But then I was more surprised when I found a girl standing in front of me cursing. First, her face surprised me as I have never seen her around here before and second her accent caught me. She was far away from home.
Even though she looked mad right now, I couldn’t help but stare into her eyes. They were a dark shade of hazelnut with a shade of green. And then I looked at her face, her lips and then back at her eyes.
“Aren't you going to apologize for almost hitting me over?” I tried to open my mouth and form words but nothing wanted to come out.
“What? Are you mute?” I heard Henry’s laughter from beside me. I broke free from my trance and looked at him.
“I need to go.” Not the most male thing to do but this girl literally caught me by my throat. Not only did she struck me as a natural beauty but that accent of hers… What the f**k is happening to me? One night with Becky and I am a complete wimp.
