CHAPTER EIGHT
On Wednesday, as wisps of clouds floated in the blue sky, Von’s bare feet sank into the sand. Typical for a walk on the beach but he’d never imagined he would do this again with Marley. Each held onto their shoes, but even if their hands had been free, they wouldn’t be lacing their fingers together like before. She was nothing more than a coworker now. No different from Cody or Parker or any of his crew. At least that was what Von kept telling himself.
