Chapter 30 I pedal straight home and go up to my room. My cell phone jangles from time to time. I ignore it. When I get to my room, I check the ID, even though I know perfectly well who it is. Texts from Denise. Duh! I perch on the edge of my bed. Okay. Deep breath. Time to face the music. I call Denise. This isn’t a message I want to text. Two rings and she answers. “Portia!
