I removed my jewelry and sat on the chair thinking about how the party had gone. Emma was helping me get ready for bed, she kept talking about the party but despite the cheerfulness, I found my mind was focused somewhere else.
“I think that they deserved that, don't you think the same ma'am?” She asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I didn't even register what she said but just nodded in response. She had a look of concern on her face and walked up to me leaning on the drawer a bit.
“Are you okay, your highness? You seem a bit distracted,” she asked with every bit of concern. It made me smile realizing just how concerned she was.
I took a deep breath and just nodded in response. “Do you think I'm a good queen?” I asked, trying not to tear up.
