Everyone was staring at me, and I didn't realize that I was popular and known for people to start gawking at me. It made me feel a bit awkward but I didn't mind much since Dean was by my side all through.
He led me to Wayne's office and I was about to enter when he stopped me. “Do you want me to follow you? I just want to know if you'd need your privacy.”
I was glad that he respected me and whatever wish I made. “You don't have to worry about that,” I patted him on the back gently. “I can take care of myself and you can also walk in with me. I don't mind.”
I gave him a reassuring smile. He nodded in response and knocked on the door. We heard a hoarse voice which was Wayne's that responded to us. He gave me a nudge and then opened the door.
