My heartbeat was racing fast as I thought of all the things that the letter could contain. I took a couple of breaths, gathering the courage to finally open it up and check what was in it.
‘Dear Andrea, I'm sorry I didn't send you a text like a normal being of our age would but it to me that I didn't have your number so I had to resort to this. I wanted to invite you to my engagement party with Lauren. It would be a shame if you weren't there to witness me getting engaged, especially how badly I treated you the first time.
