Chapter 16An acquaintance be damned. Despite garnering several odd looks from the other workers, Jack quizzed them. None of them believed the blowout terrible, claimed they would have sorted the problem out quickly. A few blamed Jack for their finishing early the day before, claiming his cautious nature was at fault. Not that they minded, because the early stop meant going home with cakes to share with their families. In their opinion, Brinley Delvaux was an all right sort, for an outsider, if a little peculiar.
