Chapter Forty After breakfast, I got into my car. Pulling the car out of the garage, I took a deep breath as I navigated the SUV onto the road. A stack of cardboard boxes sat in the backseat. Clenching the steering wheel, I tried hard not to pick at the seams on the leather cover. Marcus didn’t like when I did that, a part of me wanted to do it in the hopes that he would come home and see it. Then punish me so I could let out all of the emotions that I was feeling.
