Wolf Girl

Lola POV: Today is my first day at a new school. My first day of a new year, and a start. I got out of bed, my room was a mess, clothes everywhere and my desk was covered with books, that I was busy unpacking. There were boxes standing everywhere, I struggled to make my way to the bathroom. I knocked a few boxes over as I came through the door. I opened the tap and waited for the water to warm up, while I put on some music. I got undressed out of my purple pj’s and hopped in the shower. I couldn’t help but sing along to Theory of a Deadman - Angel. This was one of my favourite songs. I got out and wrapped a towel around me. I walked into my room and put on my clothes and undies I picked out the night before. I put on a red identity t-shirt and a dark blue skinny jean. I went downstairs and found my mom, brother and father in the kitchen. My mom was making blueberry pancakes. My mom is 5 feet long and has blonde hair that that hangs on her shoulders. My father is 6 feet long with black hair, and my brother is 5.5 feet long with blond hair. My brother is 6 years younger than me but mature for his age. “Morning guys.” I said with a smile as I entered the kitchen. “Morning dear.” My parents greeted.  I sat down next to my brother at the breakfast nook. He was busy playing games on his phone as always. “How did you sleep?” My father asked. “Okay, since it was my first night in my new room.” I answered. My mom brought the pancakes. I grabbed a few and left for school. I didn’t want to be late on my first day. I put my earphones in and walked to school. Luckily we didn’t live far from school.       I stood in front of the school a few minutes, and took a deep breath as the bel rang. I went to the office to meet with the principal. I walked up to the reception desk and a nice lady with black hair and green eyes, told me to meet principal Goodwin in his office down the hall. I walked down the hall; it was a long hallway with a lot of paintings of flowers  on the walls. I saw the name tag in gold that said: Goodwin on the door at the end. I knocked and a voice said, “come in.”. I opened the door and walked in. I saw a chubby man with a blue buttoned up shirt and dark blue tie. He had brown hair and a round face. He had brown eyes and a squished nose. He was gave me a smile as I walked in. “You must be Lola, please sit down.” He pointed to the open chair. I sat down and he welcomed me. “Your home room is class 14, if you have any trouble finding it ask my secretary, Miss Smith.” He said. I thanked him and walked out of his office and went to ask Miss Smith for directions. “Sorry, Miss Smith. I want to know how to get to room 14.” I said in a shy voice. She looked up and said, “When you exit the office turn right and walk down the stairs. Turn left and continue straight. It’s the first class on your left.” I followed her directions and found room 14 with ease.  There was noise coming from behind the closed door. I knocked and a strong male voice said, “Enter.” I opened the door and walked in. Nobody seemed to notice, which was good I didn’t like to be the center of attention. I walked to his desk, he was a tall skinny man with blue eyes and blond hair. I said, “Hello, mister Larson?” “Yes.” He said looking at me. “I’m the new girl. Lola Maritz.” I said. He looked at me for a minute, then looked at the class who was busy talking and said, “Quiet! We have a new student. Lola, be nice to her and show her around.” The whole class went silent and stared at me. Why did he have to do that? Couldn’t he just tell me to take a seat? Now everyone’s staring.  I thought to myself. The class stared at me for a second and went back to their conversations. Mister Larson gave me a roster, that I put in my jacket pocket. I took a seat at the back of the class, near a window, where there were few kids. I took out a sketchbook and a pencil. I looked out the window and saw a beautiful green, blue hummingbird, that I started to draw. I trailed off and nearly had a heart attack, when the bell rang for first period. I checked the roster:   Monday: 1st period: Afrikaans                     2nd period: Afrikaans                      3rd period:  English                       4th period: Mathematics                      5th period: Business studies                     6th period: Life science                     7th period: Accounting                     8th period: Economics   I left home room for my first class. I got lost a bit nut I found it eventually. My teacher was a long, skinny women with brown hair and green eyes. She had an oval shaped face and a long nose. Her voice was high-pitched. The class room was decorated with a lot of posters, and pictures. Her desk was big and had a flower pot with roses in, standing on the right side. One the left there were books and in the middle papers she was busy grading. We took our seats and she began the lesson. 5 Minutes into the class, the door opened and a girl walked in. She had long blond hair and dark blue eyes. "Why are you late Sara?" the teacher asked, irritated by the fact that her class was interrupted. "I'm sorry ma'am, our car broke down." She said. "It's fine, take a seat next to Lola." Sara came and sat down next to me.
