“Why did you leave so early?” Kingston finally asked Kayleeen. His eyes took special note of her eyes and nose. They were no longer red.
“Last night you said you planned to perform a different type of treatment on Grandpa. You also mentioned that it would be painful for him. I don't think I could stand even a small painful gasp from Grandpa so…,” Kayleen explained in a quiet voice. Kingston’s lips were slightly raised. She was still sensitive.
“Don’t worry,” Kingston tapped Kayleen’s nose. Kayleen blinked at his sudden action and looked away before she blushed.
“Would you like to have breakfast?” she asked, walking into the kitchen.
“Let me help you,” Kingston insisted as he stood next to Kayleen.
“Do you know how to cook?” She curiously inquired. She doubted that he had ever gotten a glass of water for himself.
“No.”
“Then I will handle it,” she laughed.
Kingston had no idea what he looked like when he witnessed Kayleen’s carefree expression and beautiful smile. His heart was a mess when her melodious voice filled his ears. Kayleen slowly stopped laughing when she noticed Kingston’s unreadable expression. Had she offended him?
“Umm, can you break the eggs?'' She passed him four eggs to help lighten the atmosphere. “I thought you would have breakfast with your Father at the palace. Was the appointment canceled?”
Kayleen had heard from Orla a few days ago about having breakfast with Haakon and the triplets when they arrived in the Kingdom. It was one of the rules that Kingston was bound by, he had to show respect to his elders. Sharing a meal with family was one way to accomplish that. When Kayleen did not get a reply, she looked up at Kingston. His expression was stern, his eyes had taken on an unexplainable darkness even though he was busy with the eggs.
Kayleen suddenly remembered that she had overheard Kingston and Nate’s conversation at Basil’s residence. Nate had tried to persuade him to meet with his father but Kingston’s words were cold and heartless. Even now, when Kayleen mentioned his father he seemed suffocated.
Kayleen placed her hand on Kingston’s to attract his attention. “Mix them,” she explained. Kingston gazed into her eyes that were no longer filled with the questions that he hated. She even changed the topic for his comfort.
She just took the eggs from him as she continued guiding him from time to time about mixing the eggs and adding seasoning and other things to them.
Every time their hands accidentally touched she apologized.
“I don’t mind your touch,” Kingston remarked, earning Kayleen’s surprised look.
“But I have heard and witnessed you avoiding women's touch. It was no different when we were young,” Kayleen pointed out.
“Why are you comparing yourself to the way I treat other women?" Kingston frowned.
"The women that have approached me were cunning. Some were greedy about claiming my Queen's throne, one tried to drug me so that she could be marked by me, and the sluttiest women used their bodies to charm me. Of course, most of them were assassins. I am too busy to deal with these women's tactics. It's gotten to the point that it disgusts me. I don't even get hard at a sight of a naked beauty," Kingston explained, reading Kayleen's surprised features.
Being born into a royal family seemed to be a blessing to others, but they did not understand how poisonous it could be. Building a trusting bond with someone could be a big decision, doubt would come long before falling in love.
"You are different from other women. Don't tell me that you think that I hated you,” Kingston narrowed his eyes at the misunderstanding that Kayleen had been living under.
“Ummm… I…” Kayleen could not answer him. In truth, she had that thought.
He pulled her closer to his chest and raised his brows. “Little girl, do you remember what happened years ago?”
Kayleen’s first impression of Kingston was as a six years old naive little girl crying in Basil’s arms because the old King had been hurt while teaching Kingston a fighting technique. Since he was a small child, Kingston had robust and unruly wizard powers that he had yet to learn to control.
When Basil had half heartedly attacked him to teach him to defend himself when the enemy attacked from behind, Kingston’s lycan and wizard powers got out of control. He got into a dangerous state of defense and he subconsciously attacked Basil. That much power had been unexpected from a twelve year old. Basil’s head had been badly hurt and was bleeding.
Kingston’s grandfather, who was best friends with Basil, jumped in to handle his grandson. His grandfather had wanted to take responsibility for Kingston's actions. However, Basil had brushed the incident aside, knowing that Kingston’s attack was unintentional and that not much harm had been caused. He also summoned and spoke to a guilty Kingston to prevent any guilt from festering in his mind. However, Kayleen had witnessed her grandfather being attacked by Kingston and could only see Basil’s blood and pain. She panicked so much that she cried for two hours while clinging to Basil's chest, she avoided Kingston’s gaze the whole time.
Kingston had found her red nose and tears adorable but she would cry harder if their eyes met by chance. The guilt in Kingston’s heart caused it to break every time she sobbed. Since that day, whenever Kingston’s grandfather brought him to Basil’s palace, he would avoid Kayleen.
“I did not want to remind you of the incident with King Basil. You used to hide behind him at the sight of me. So I assumed it was better for me not to approach you,” Kingston explained.
Kayleen’s mouth was slightly gaped at the revelation. She had no idea that she had unintentionally stopped Kingston from coming near her, she had misjudged him.
“Do you remember now?” Kingston inquired.
“I don't have any clear memories about that day but I never blamed you for Grandpa’s injuries. I must have been freaked out at that moment,” Kayleen admitted.
“It’s good if you don't recall that day. I don’t want you afraid of me.” Kingston reached out and slowly tucked her hair behind her ear. Kayleen blushed at his touch and she nodded while looking down.
They returned to cooking breakfast. Kingston watched her washing vegetables and fruit for a long time. Everything she did turned out perfectly. It was surprising that a princess knew so much about housework. Kayleen was perfect in every way.
“The main part of King Basil’s treatment will start tomorrow. He won’t be able to have visitors for a couple of days after that,” Kingston warned her, attracting Kayleen’s attention. “Would you like to visit him?” he asked.
“Yes, I would!” Kayleen exclaimed, her smile reaching all the way to her shining eyes. She was thankful that he had given her the opportunity.
“Then I will take you back later,” Kingston said.
“Thank you,” Kayleen jumped with joy.
Soon the kitchen was filled with Kayleen’s giggling as she taught Kingston how to cook. His firm and strong hands were like a sword, ready to cut anyone down in a second, but when it came to holding a spoon, he was a disaster. He had turned the kitchen a mess and burned one side of the food.
"You have flour on your face," Kayleen pointed out with a laugh. She pulled out her handkerchief. "Let me clean you," she offered. Kingston nodded.
She stretched her hand up, raising up onto the tips of her toes. Silence fell between them when they were that close to each other. They could hear each other's breathing and heartbeat. Kayleen felt Kingston's gaze on her lips. She wiped the flour from the corner of his lips as their eyes locked, raising the heat between them.
Kingston's eyes shone as he stared at her parted quivering lips and quickening heartbeat. It raised a hunger inside him.
"Done," she pulled her hand back as she quickly looked away but ended up staggering back.
Kingston grabbed her waist in time and pulled her into a kiss. Kayleen closed her eyes, as she froze in his arms the handkerchief slipped from her hand. She found herself caged between the kitchen counter and Kingston. When their gaze met the intensity increased, his arousal filled the room. Instead of retreating, Kingston decreased every inch of space between them as his hands slowly curled around Kayleen’s waist.
“You smell so good, Kayleen,” he inhaled her scent as his c**k twitched painfully in his pants. Her scent was still a mystery to him as he could not tell what exactly it was. “You are so beautiful,” he confessed. Kayleen shivered when his fingers playfully roamed on her lower stomach, awakening something inside her. Their close proximity seemed to be awakening her heart and emotions.
“Kingston, what are you up to?” Kayleen’s chest rose and fell when he slowly slid his hand from waist up to her breast. His hand grew bolder and she could not move a finger to stop him.
“So plump and perfect,” Kingston whispered, softly massaging her breast with his large hand. The more he touched them the more his desire to press those two soft globes together rose inside him. Her n*****s were hard and tenting the thin cloth of her dress.
“Are you enjoying this, Kayleen?” He relished every little erotic expression that Kayleen made when he kneaded her breasts harder then played with them.
“Ahhh!” Kayleen moaned, then put her back hand over her mouth in shame. It was so needy and dirty. Her whole body was shaking, something moist grew between her thighs.
“Don’t hold back your moans,” Kingston leaned down to kiss her lips, his hands slowly slipping into her hair. She hissed when his cold hand touched her bare skin. He kissed her down to her neck softly sucking her flesh on the way.
“Kayleen,” a low growl escaped from Kingston’s chest. Kayleen paused abruptly when she felt something hard poking her belly. Her hazy gaze landed on Kingston’s bulging pants. It looked like it could burst through the fabric at any moment. “See, what you do to me?” he accused, rubbing his hardness against her.
“I…I didn't…” Kayleen’s cheeks flushed in shame. She tried to look away but Kingston made it impossible.
“It has never gotten this painfully hard.” He took her small hand into his and placed it on his c**k. Kayleen held her breath tightly when she realized how big it was even though it was concealed by his pants. It really seemed painful like a thick hot rod. “Kayleen, have you ever seen a man’s c**k?” Kingston asked, unlatching his belt.
“No,” Kayleen shook her head. Kingston’s heart filled with pleasure. He softly grabbed her hair, pulling her into a kiss.
“Do you want to see mine?” he whispered.
