Paul White was utterly flabbergasted, his mind a whirlpool of confusion. He hadn't done anything out of the ordinary! "What's wrong?" Elizabeth Whitlock noticed Paul's disoriented expression and asked with concern.
Paul shot Elizabeth a glance, resentment simmering in his heart. He had merely assisted the Whitlock family a bit, nothing more. It must be the Whitlocks, or perhaps Elizabeth herself, who had offended the Ares Group and Brian Adams.
After all, Elizabeth had mentioned that Brian had thrown the contract at her face.
This jerk! If it weren't for the land where the Whitlock factory stood, he wouldn't have bothered with them!
Paul harbored these resentful thoughts but outwardly said, "Nothing, there's an emergency at home, I have to go back right away." With that, he left.
