Everett Luminar's prediction that Mrs. Whitlock would consent was not a shot in the dark.
For Mrs. Whitlock, there was no downside to Everett and Eira Whitlock brokering a deal with the brand, as it remained under the Whitlock family's control.
Moreover, Everett was also planning to negotiate a partnership with the Ares Group using the brand.
This meant an additional opportunity for the Whitlock family.
Although this chance was slim, it was better than nothing.
Elizabeth Whitlock, however, was far from pleased, as the brand was registered under her name!
But she was powerless to overturn what Mrs. Whitlock had agreed to.
After all, the 2 million debt was indeed shouldered voluntarily by Eira.
"Eira, are you really going to heed this madman's advice and seek cooperation with the Ares Group?" Elizabeth sneered, "My boyfriend Paul White has already paved the way for me to directly negotiate with Brian Adams. Has your Everett done the same for you? Oh, I forgot, the Ares Group was founded by your Everett, who is the big shot who returned early today, the... national... marshal..."
The last four words were drawn out by Elizabeth, clearly mocking Eira and Everett.
They didn't recognize a real big shot when they saw one!
Everett merely watched with a frosty smile.
"Let's go!" Eira couldn't bear the mockery any longer.
"I guarantee that you won't be able to negotiate cooperation with the Ares Group tomorrow," Everett said. "Only my Eira can successfully negotiate with them."
"What nonsense!" Paul White shook his head slowly. "Eira, you should take him to see a doctor! If you don't know any doctors, I can introduce you to a highly skilled one!"
"Your face is pale, your waist and knees are weak, your heart is irritable, you have dizziness and tinnitus, and your body is thin!" Everett looked at Paul. "You have the root of kidney deficiency. Here's a piece of advice for you: lust is like a bone-scraping steel knife. Control yourself, or you'll last shorter and shorter , down to seconds!"
"You're talking nonsense...you..." Paul was furious.
Elizabeth, however, was shocked!
As Paul's girlfriend, she naturally knew whether Paul was long or not.
But Paul rarely spent time with her!
Everett smirked, glancing at Elizabeth.
The look on Elizabeth's face said it all!
Everyone in the Whitlock family understood, and their faces turned extremely ugly.
Even if Everett had intermittent mental illness, it didn't change the fact.
The Luminar Family was a medical family!
Everett was once the pride of the Luminar Family!
"Hmph!" Everett snorted coldly, took Eira's hand, and walked out.
"Stop!" Elizabeth came back to her senses, shouting with a pale face.
"What? Is there anything else?" Everett turned around and asked.
"Don't slander my Paul!" Elizabeth shouted angrily.
I see!
Everett understood instantly!
After weighing the options, Elizabeth still chose Paul, naturally venting her anger on Everett, scolding Everett to clear Paul's name, and also to show that her attitude towards Paul remained unchanged.
Sure enough.
After Elizabeth cleared Paul's name, although Paul was still angry, he was no longer furious.
"I've told you, whether you believe it or not, and how you choose is up to you," Everett said indifferently.
Paul said, "Everett, do you dare to bet with me?"
"Oh? What do you want to bet on?" Everett asked.
"I bet on the matter of going to the Ares Group for cooperation tomorrow!" Paul sneered. "Aren't you also going to the Ares Group for cooperation?"
"Of course!" Everett said solemnly. "How do you want to bet?"
"If my Elizabeth successfully negotiates cooperation with the Ares Group, you eat s**t in front of us!" Paul shouted angrily.
"And if my Eira succeeds?" Everett asked.
"Then I'll eat s**t!" Paul said without hesitation.
Everett nodded in satisfaction, "Good, you said it. It's the first time I've seen someone eager to eat s**t. Let's settle it then. We'll meet at the Ares Group tomorrow!"
With that, Everett left the Whitlock family villa with Eira...
In the heart of the Whitlock estate...
Amelia White, having returned and been apprised of the situation, wore an expression of stern disapproval. She chastised Eira, "Have you taken leave of your senses? Or has his madness somehow infected you? A staggering debt of 2 million, and you just decide to shoulder it? Can you truly bear such a burden? And this little girl, who can say for certain if she's his illegitimate offspring?"
"Grandmother, my biological father was Ares Sanchez, and he's no longer with us," Stella Sanchez managed to utter through her tears.
"There, there, Stella. Dry your eyes. From this day forward, Everett will stand as your father, and I shall be your mother," Eira consoled Stella, enveloping her in a comforting embrace while casting a sidelong glance at Amelia.
Amelia exhaled a weary sigh. Confronted with Stella, a child pitiful due to her unfortunate circumstances yet remarkably well-behaved, she found her anger dissipating.
"I assure you, I don't suffer from intermittent mental illness. You needn't worry. That was merely a ruse concocted by a friend," Everett clarified.
"Is that so?" Amelia queried, skepticism etched on her face.
"Indeed, it is. I am Stella's legal guardian. How could someone mentally ill be entrusted with such responsibility?" Everett retorted promptly.
At least, that was a sliver of good news.
Amelia's hardened expression softened somewhat.
"The Ares Group was my brainchild, and it was I who was bestowed the title of The Divine Marshal!" Everett declared, "From now on, you won't have to endure hardship anymore!"
Upon hearing Everett's proclamation, Amelia's countenance underwent a drastic transformation, and she exchanged a fraught glance with Eira.
This was a disaster!
Even the truth was met with disbelief!
"I was merely boasting," Everett admitted, "Just a harmless jest!"
"Everett, refrain from indulging in fanciful daydreams and uttering such nonsensical remarks, will you?" Eira admonished, her brows furrowed in disapproval, "The cornerstone of life is pragmatism. Even if you haven't achieved notable success, you must remain grounded!"
"Understood, I'll hold my tongue!" Everett acquiesced immediately, "I'll heed your advice."
Amelia shot Everett a reproachful look, then sighed heavily and lamented, "2 million... what are we to do?"
"We shall approach the Ares Group to discuss potential collaboration tomorrow!" Everett proposed, "Although Amelia Eira hasn't ascended to international fame, it's still a formidable brand domestically. I firmly believe that we can negotiate a successful partnership with the Ares Group using the brand!"
"What do you know! The brand isn't the powerhouse it once was!" Amelia sighed despondently, outlining the current predicament of the brand.
After Eira's father passed away, Mrs. Whitlock had Elizabeth take over the reins of the brand. The business philosophy underwent a drastic shift, prioritizing profit maximization at the expense of quality. This led to a slew of quality issues and a precipitous decline in reputation. The once prestigious Amelia Eira had been reduced to the level of common street merchandise.
"So what?" Everett countered, "The brand was your father's legacy. No one understands its essence better than you. Show them your sincerity, narrate the significance of it, its past glory, the reasons for its current decline, and finally, your vision for it. You're bound to succeed!"
"Can it really work?" Eira asked, her face etched with worry.
"If you try, there's a chance you might not succeed. But if you don't even attempt, you'll never know success!" Everett asserted, "Didn't you just advise me to stay grounded? This is what being grounded entails!"
"So, should we give it a shot tomorrow?" Eira ventured.
"Absolutely!" Everett responded immediately, "We've already reached this juncture, let's treat a dead horse as if it were still alive!"
"Can't you utter something more encouraging?" Amelia retorted irritably, "You're always spouting such defeatist remarks!"
As dawn broke the following day, Everett and Eira set off for the Ares Group...
