CHAPTER NINE The next morning, patches of blue appeared in the sky, but the temperature was teeth-chattering cold. Ry stood at the bottom of the super G course with Taylor, who signed autographs and posed for pictures with fans. Only a few people recognized him, but he didn’t mind. He hadn’t competed in over two years. He also hadn’t shaved this morning. Laziness, not because of an interview he’d read where Brynn called men with facial scruff sexy. The announcer’s voice blared over speakers, above the cowbells, horns, and cheers. The festive atmosphere was one of Ry’s favorite things about ski races.
