Chapter Eight: The Red Thread Of Fate.

The next day.
Venice was busy collecting her things from her work desk, and she's putting them all inside the cardboard box. She has to hurry because she doesn't want anyone to see her.
"What a surprise." one snooty voice made Venice glance back.
She saw Miss Audrey looking at her with a bitchy look.
Venice bravely stared back at her. She's not going to back out now. She has to face her and teach her a lesson somehow...
"Looks like you're going to resign. I'm glad you've finally come to your senses..." the old woman sarcastically spat out.
"You're right. I've finally come to my senses. And I think this is the best decision I ever made in my whole life. By the way, I already put my resignation letter on your desk." Venice boldly replied.
"Oh, well. You can be easily replaced. I won't have a hard time looking for another Assistant." Audrey continued on being a b***h.
"Goodluck on that." Venice said, in a matter-of-factly tone.
"Well, goodluck on your career. If you still have one..." Audrey mockingly stated. Afterwards, she walked straight to her office without looking back.
Venice just shrugged her shoulders in return. She's not really affected by that old woman's insults, and she doesn't give a damn anymore...
Venice is staring at her room's ceiling. Her mind is flying elsewhere, and she has been stressed and restless for the passed few days.
Three weeks ago, she decided to resign from her previous company... She became busy writing a new manuscript, and after finishing it, she decided to submit her new work at a movie production company...
And now, she's waiting for their feedback.
Venice's thoughts stopped in a halt when her mobile phone suddenly rang. She curiously frowned when she saw new numbers on her callerscreen.
She decided to answer the call, anyway.
"Hello?"
"Good afternoon, this is Thea Gibson from Starbright Movie Production. Am I speaking with Miss Venice?" the caller asked from the other line.
"Yes, this is she." she curiously responded.
A few minutes later, Venice's eyes widened i. shock when the caller told her a good news!
The Starbright movie production had positive feedback with her manuscript, and they are planning to have a movie adaptation of her novel!
The caller told her the details of the upcoming meeting with the Director and Producer. Afterwards, the staff from the company finally said goodbye...
After the call, Venice silently counted one to ten. Then, without any warning, she screamed as if there's no tomorrow...
"Venice, dear? Are you alright?" her grandfather came knocking on her door, and she can hear the worried tone on his voice.
Venice quickly got up from her bed to open the door.
"What happened, Venice?" her grandfather quickly asked her.
Venice quickly hugged her grandfather, while crying because of so much happiness.
"I finally did it, Gramps! I'm finally making my dream come true!" she excitedly announced.

Warren Grant removed his reading glasses and closed his eyes because he was so tired.
He just finished reading the entire manuscript his manager gave him.
His mind travelled back in time when he was talking to his Manager, Daniel, about this new movie project...
*FLASHBACK.*
"Do I really have to accept Miss Audrey proposal about a new movie project?" he helplessy asked Daniel, his Manager.
"Yes, Warren. You have to accept this project or else..." Daniel suddenly faltered, as he averted his eyes from him.
"What's going on, Daniel?" Warren asked his friend.
Apart from being his manager, he now considers him like his own brother.
Grant sat at a nearby chair and looked at Warren with a worried look on his face.
"I don't want you to worry too much, but I talked to Boss Vince earlier. He asked me to report on your progress as an artist. He actually wants you to accept this movie project so that you can have more exposure, and you'll be more popular to the public. And he's dead serious about it, man." he explained the real situation to Warren.
Warren sighed in return. His Boss is pressuring him to accept more movie, television and commercial projects...
"--But you don't have to follow his orders... You have already made your own name and have a good reputation in showbizness. With your current status you can move to another Talent Agency." Daniel suggested.
"I can't do that, Dan. Boss Vince will do anything and everything he can to destroy us both." Warren commented.
He doesn't have any choice but to accept this movie project...

Dane is now making his way out from the airport. He heard his mobile phone ringing, and he immediately answered the call from their Talent Agency's CEO...
"Dane, I received a new movie project for you. The plot sounds interesting, and it's really a perfect role for you!" the CEO sounds excited on the other line.
Dane got inside his car first before answering his Boss.
"You sound really excited, Boss. By the way, who's the writer?" he curiously asked.
Dane's eyes widened in pleasant surprise when he heard the name of the writer for his new movie project...

Adam and Andrea are now going to Dane's condominium unit to pick him up. He has to attend an important meeting for a new movie project today...
Adam was about to ring the doorbell, but he wasn't able to do so when the door suddenly opened.
"Good morning, guys! Come in, I'm just dressing up and then we'll leave." Dane happily greeted them.
Adam and Andrea looked at each other in astonishment. They thought that Dane's overly happy today, which is really strange.
Andrea immediately went straight to Jun's room and she saw his clothes scattered on his bed.
"Uh, what with all these clothes, Dane?" she asked, in a puzzles manner.
I bought new clothes online to wear for today's meeting. I want to look more presentable. What do you think I should wear?" Dane excitedly asks her.
"Look, you already look great. We need to go now or else we'll be late at the meeting." Andrea commented.
"Alright, let's go. I'm so excited because this is going to be a good day!" Dane chirped.
Adam and Andrea are both looking at Dane.
"What the hell happened to him?"
