(Julia)
I didn't realize how long I had slept until mom decided that it was time to wake me up. She came into my room and drew the curtains, allowing the sunlight to make its way in. I groan as I try to cover my face with the pillow, but mom pulls it away from me playfully instead.
Looking at her, I noticed that she had bags under her eyes, as if she couldn't sleep. I don't understand why she would be this way when she was literally celebrating Sophia and Wray's union.
I know that that was a messed up way of thinking. Of course, she would be worried about me and wanted to make sure that I was alright. But, at the end of the day, the image of her and dad kept on replaying in my mind, and I felt betrayed.
“How are you feeling?” Mom asked, I sat up and sighed. I didn't want to dwell on the fact that Wray had moved on with his life. That it happened on my birthday, and that I was actually looking forward to us being mates. It was a huge letdown for me, yes, but I had other things to think about.
“I'm feeling better thanks, is everything okay?” I asked. She nodded her head and gave me a sad smile.
“I guess so, I saw you leaving last night with Helene.” My mouth fell open, shocked that she had actually seen me. She held her hand up as I was just about ready to come up with some sort of excuse.
“Your father was going to stop you, but I talked him out of it. I knew that you would want some time away from here to get your mind off what had happened. I just hoped that you were wise with that choice that you made.” I scrunched my nose as I looked at her, wondering if she somehow knew that I went out and had s*x with a stranger.
“I just had a couple of drinks with Helene. We weren't drunk. As you can see, we got home safely.” I replied, not liking the way she was staring at me.
“Helene got home before you. You may have left together, but I know my pup. You arrived home before dawn.” My heart skipped a beat when I realized that she knew that I had slept out. I wasn't sure if I should try to defend myself, since I'm an adult.
“I just hope that you protected yourself when you had s*x, you're an omega after all, and you can get pregnant. I'm sure you won't be ready to be a mother this young.” s**t, I tried not to panic in front of her as I recalled what took place last night.
I'm pretty sure Logan didn't wear a condom. He came in me at least seven times before he fell asleep. I nervously ran my hand through my hair, trying my best to stop it from trembling.
“Is there anything else you wanted to talk about? I need to use the bathroom.” I didn't mean to sound annoyed, but it came out as such. My mind was constantly going back to what took place last night. The way I acted when Logan was taking me over and over. I couldn't seem to get rid of those thoughts even if I tried. Lilly seems to enjoy it, too. I'm not sure why my wolf was acting so eager.
“Aww, yes, someone important is returning to the pack today. Alpha Hayden asked us to meet him outside so that we could give this person a welcome home party. I'm not so sure who it is, since he was a bit cryptic about it.” I nodded my head as I listened to her.
I didn't want to be around anyone, but I knew that I would have to face them somehow. I would have to let go of what happened between Wray and I. It's just so damn hard.
Mom left shortly after, and I got up and made my way towards the bathroom. My eyes became wide as I looked in the mirror and saw the countless hickies on my neck. I became mortified as I realized that Mom had seen them. No wonder, she was talking about using protection.
I groaned as I ran my hand through my hair. I'm trying to tame it a bit. I was so freaking embarrassed. How was I going to face her after this?
After using the bathroom, I got ready and made my way downstairs. I saw Helene talking to a young boy and made my way over to her. Everyone seemed excited, I wasn't sure who this person was that was arriving here today.
“You did the walk of shame, didn't you?” Helene asked, making me laugh. I nodded my head, and she gave me a hug, which I returned.
“I didn't, I'm not as bold as you are, Michael and I talked for a while until I decided that it was time for me to go home.” I blushed and looked away as she teased me a bit. We were then interrupted by Wray, who wanted to talk to me. Helene nodded her head, letting me know that I should. It was the only way for me to move on from this.
Wray and I found somewhere private to talk so that the others couldn't hear. My heart galloped in my chest as I looked at me ex-boyfriend. He still had this sad look in his eyes, which told me that he was unhappy about this, as I was.
“Listen, before you say anything, can I at least know if we could still be friends? I don't want to lose that because of what's happening between us.” He said. I was about to reply when the most delicious scent hit me suddenly. I moaned out loud, not caring if Wray was looking at me as if I were going crazy.
He then glanced behind me, and his eyes became wide. I turned around and blurted out the only thing that came to mind. Logan was standing there. He's here in my pack.
“Mate.” I said, his eyes became wide as he looked at me. Finally, he recognized who I am. But what Wray said next had me wishing that I could die this very moment.
“Dad?”
