Scott and Caleb arrived back at the house. staring out of his bedroom window Scott saw Phoenix step into the house surrounding with Cherokee held on her right arm. They look like they were getting along already. Scott`s eyes raked the vision in front of him, her long blonde hair that reached to her waist was tied back in a loose braid while that small curl frame her heart shape faced. Phoenix wore a simple shoulder summer dress that fell to just above her knees and as she turned, her wrist glinted in the sun as rays of light caught a thin silver bracelet.
Scott's eyes darkened, he would not be swayed by this pretty face. She was still some b***h that had no valuable family background and was abandoned. He glowered to himself, "I can't be worth putting up with someone who is poor and has no social status."

Phoenix takes Cherokee around the family Mansion to get a view and familiarize herself with the house and its beauty. Since Scott had ordered that Cherokee is part of the family and she should be taken care of by everyone, it didn't take Phoenix any much effort to begin to like her.
Stepping through the doors she left, it took a moment for her eyes to adjust through the afternoon bright sun. Slowly the grand entrance of the larger building came unto view. To the left was a sweeping entrance that she presumed their pack living quarters. To the left was a set of heavy doors for which looked like it will lead to a lower level. In front doors lead to a large dining room, a living room with sofas and comfy chairs. And a small corridor that she assumed led to the toilet, quest rooms, or otherwise. The smaller door showed there is a kitchen just right at the end of the corridor.
Turning around she realized that Caleb, Scott's cousin, had been looking at her. Cherokee quickly shut her mouth that she realized had gone wide open in front of the majestic structure. "So you like it, right?" He asked with an alight chuckle. She blushed. "I am privileged to be part of this family and I appreciate every minute I will be spending working here." She stammered.
"A slight shock ran across his face." Work here? He inquired.
"You are here to marry the heir to the Scotts' empire and our packs next Alpha, Cherokee!"
Cherokee cringed. She thought she had said something awful with Caleb, reaction and response. "So sorry if had said something bad. I just never thought I would be worth anything good for a mate. I have had the worst time of my life. My family had abandoned me and I have no one to turn to, I am subjected to being a maid everywhere I had found myself for the last ten years and I thought coming into this family won't be different."
Caleb looked at Cherokee curiously for a few minutes before throwing his head backward and laughing. "Ooh, young lady. He said before wiping his eyes. "We are a pack., we don't have slaves or otherwise, we all work together to keep the packhouse running. Alpha Scott has his good reasons for bringing you into the house and I can guarantee you it is not to be a maid here or serve us. Will have everything sorted in here all by our self and in a mutual condition. You will attend college with the other pack members, learn our ways and spend time with us and eventually marry our future Alpha."
A knot that she had been unaware of, suddenly unclenched from her stomach, could he be telling the truth? Was she not here as a slave.
Before she could work through her train of thought, Caleb gave a piercing whistle, and Phoenix who was with Cherokee ran downstairs, her brown hair flying long behind her as she took her steps two at a time. Skidding in front of Caleb, She bowed her head and said, "Beta, how may I assist you?"
Caleb looks down at Phoenix smiling, "Cherokee this is Phoenix perhaps you don't know her name, she will be your roommate, for the time being. Phoenix this is Cherokee a new member of our pack, please show her to your room and help her get settled. Alpha will request her presence you know she is his wife.
She bowed her head, " Yes Beta Caleb." She replied, before grabbing Cherokee's arm softly, and leading her toward the stairs, talking joyfully at the same, "I am so excited." She bubbled, I haven't had a roommate since I lost my younger sister." Dragging her upstairs, Phoenix headed down a corridor to the right and then through the 4th door on the left.
Cherokee looked around at the awful sight that was in her room, clothes were everywhere including the spare bed. Phoenix unceremoniously gathered them up and threw them into her already overflowing wardrobe, shouldered it off before plonking herself down on her bed and liking Cherokee excitedly and expectantly.
"Yepp. Phoenix grinned, tell me about yourself! Don't leave anything out, I want to know everything!" She brought herself down on her elbows and stared at Cherokee, giving her best smile. "I am completely listening to you." She poses.
Cherokee couldn't help but smile. Phoenix's friendliness was infectious and having years of being beaten and broken she ached for the friendship that exuded from Phoenix as she lay in her bed looking expectant.
"There isn't much to tell." Replied Cherokee, lowering herself onto her bed and gasping at how soft it felt beneath her. "My mom left me and my Dad when I was 5. My Dad lost his job due to the pandemic and my mother didn't like the fact that we became poor so she decided to elope with her secret boyfriend. My Dad tried to keep up with the challenges of life, one day on my 17 birthday he left me a note on the bed and I never saw him again.
